Metal Gear Solid - HD Collection

Post by David_Cody »

Apparently Konami is going to release three Metal Gear Solid games of yesteryear as high definition re-releases. They will include:

* Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (based on Subsistence version)
* Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - Subsistence (which includes: Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2)
* Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

I've never played a Metal Gear Solid game, but I watched the HD trailer and it looks pretty cool Very stealthy.

(I tried to embed the video, but couldn't figure out how to do it. :? )

This is a silly compilation that should've included Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2 and then Metal Gear Solid 4 to make a full and real trilogy of the story. The first two could've been remastered and then the 4th could've had the addition of trophies.

This is a weak package - not likely one that I'd buy unless they show more value with it.

I've never played any of those you cited. But I have read where others wrote exactly what you think.

I'll wait for the price to drop significantly, if ever. I'm not even sure what the third title is, but I seem to recall there's not actually a physical disc for it in this set...just a download code for Peace Walker.

I also read the lack of the original PS1 title was because it is not transferable to an HD format. The developers would have needed to basically rebuild the game from scratch. It's not like the original XBOX/PS2 titles where the engine will actually transfer over to the HD system, like the upcoming Halo remaster.
