Star Wars Galaxies
I played this relentlessly when it was released back in 2002. Even spent 3 months playing the EMU version last year. The game had the most unbelievable economy and skill trees.

I tried to play it when it first came out, but I had never played an MMORPG before, so I had absolutely no clue what I was doing and quit after a month. I've been trying to jump on one of the private servers, but it seems like they are always "coming soon". It just seemed like that game had so much more going for it that Old Republic does... like Old Republic would have been better as a single player RPG.
