I've not got one. What's tempting you to get one??? I can't see any reason to, theres no outstanding games I can see at the moment.

I do have a 3DS and get a fair amount of play out of it (plus the 3D actually works and theres no need for silly glasses), although I am waiting on quite a few games to come out (Luigi's Mansion 2, Animal Crossing 3DS, Super Smash Bros).

I kind of agree, there just seems nothing of worth to play on it and very little in the way of upcoming games.

Also the console is selling appalingly badly which makes it a bit of a risk to get one in case they fail to catch on at all and are no longer supported.

On the other hand they've just released a ton of PS1 games on it which is cool, although they won't amaze you graphics wise.

Well I got a DS for Xmas back when it first came out and after a while I traded it in because it looked like there where no good games out or on the way.

I regretted it later.

And I ended up buying a DSi much later.

So don't miss out on a 3DS

If you really want a Vita and can afford it then go for it dude, personally they are too expensive and don't have the games now or upcoming (and never did on the previous PSPs) for me to be tempted.

What kind of games do you play mostly?

I have one and it was worth it. It is a very attractive handheld. Graphics are impressive and the touchscreen is very responsive. Been playing Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Treasures of Montezuma Blitz, and Pinball Arcade constantly.

Recommendations? For fighters, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom is great. There's also the most recent BlazBlue, MK, and Street Fighter X Tekken; haven't played them yet, but their Metacritic scores have been great. And, if you lacked a PSP, there's some of its back-catalog available to download for the Vita in addition to the PSone games (I recommend Power Stone Collection and Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX). As for shooters, I heard Black Ops Declassified is really terrible. And, although my copy is getting dust, heard Unit 13 is a good game.

Also, beware of hidden costs. Because you need a memory card for anything, and they are expensive. A 4GB Vita card's MSRP is $20, while a 4GB SD card can be had for less than $13, maybe $8. And a 32GB Vita card can cost $100. So, go with bundles or deals that will at least offer a 4GB memory card, like the Vita bundles for Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, Madden 13, or Black Ops Declassified (yes, terrible game, but the bundle's the same price as a Vita w/o the game and memory card at places like Amazon)

Hah, yeah, when I saw this thread title I was thinking "Well, sheesh, for actual games, the 3DS is probably a better choice..." I mean, Super Mario 3D Land alone...or Ocarina of Time 3D. Or Mario Kart 7. Or...

If I bought a PS Vita it would probably just be to buy one or two PSP/PS1 (I really want the FFT remake, War of the Lions_ games and digitally download them on to it. I have yet to hear of a PS Vita game I want to play...does PS Vita have MGS: Peace Walker on it?

That is one cool thing about the Vita, you can use it play PS1 games off the PS Network. So it's basically a mobile PS1. Plus you can buy PSP games.

Yes, if you count the PSP version. It wasn't added as part of the Vita's Metal Gear Solid HD Collection like it was for the PS3 version.
