Re: This is the End The End my Friend
I think I should admit that I was wrong when I kept saying that Dynamite would cancel all these series by issue 8 at the latest. Clearly I misread the situation.
And thus the latest chapter in the long and varied publication history of these characters grinds to a close. Lamentable and forgettable, it was unfortunate that these characters should have spent any time under the stewardship of such a contemptible and avaricious publisher as Nicky B's Dynamite comics. Let us hope that any further publication of these beloved characters not be so regrettably hijacked nor try again to counterfeit Valiant.
Dynamite continues to harm comic books both as an industry and as an art form. Their publication output is at best detritus and at worst poisonous. At least their focus is short-lived and thus the damage they do is limited.

I don't know. The more I read the solicitations and the "fade to black" line particularly, the more I don't think it's over for Dynamite GK.

yeah, I never actually read the solicits myself until now.Tim wrote:I don't know. The more I read the solicitations and the "fade to black" line particularly, the more I don't think it's over for Dynamite GK.
The fade to black line makes me feel like its reboot time not the end at all. Maybe its an event that will happen from something in solar since its a month behind? I haven't been reading the books so I am not sure if they are tied together somehow. This could be their way of bringing them together if solar blows *SQUEE* up, realities collide, other books fade to black... and then... profit? Or could just be leaving it open-ended for when/if they decide to do anything else. I'm not sure how their licenses work either so maybe they just needed to do 12 of each title and then a mini every now and then lets them keep the license.
I dunno, but until I read your post and went back to the link I assumed they were done for
Where are we going and why am I in this hand-basket?

Re: This is the End The End my Friend
I'm likely to end my association with this incarnation of the GK3 at issue #12, the end or not. If it's a reboot to new #1's I'll for sure be out. I've been reading more out of hope(kinda like Q&W for me) that they would be good.
Magnus, in fairness has been worth reading.
Turok's whole set up got off on the wrong foot for me but I've adjusted. It's just not enough of feeling like my Turok.
Solar--poor man's Firestorm. 'Nuff said.

I see what you did! That is so cool! I love you Greg, in a total bromance and not homosexual (although there is nothing wrong with that) kind of way.

Re: This is the End The End my Friend
The funny part is by ending the runs I might actually pick up the trades or back issues (hopefully for cheap) to read.
Good job Dynamite!

I might buy the trades too. I have all the Dark Horse trades, so I might as well get these.Intrepidxc wrote:The funny part is by ending the runs I might actually pick up the trades or back issues (hopefully for cheap) to read.
