Solar #47 and Magnus #47 - Shark jump spot?
I just read both of these and I feel like I didn't know either character or what was going on in the books. Magnus had absolutely no compassion for robots and was not much more than a robot smasher. Solar, I had to look for names throughout the book to ensure it was Phil Seleski I was reading about. Apparently, this issue was the pre-cursor for Birthquake.
Is it all downhill from here?

Strange - but I wouldn't call it the worst moments. Most of the eliminated robot empathy came a few issues before - near the end of the Malev war and fast-forward. I am at a point of the Valiant run now where Rai is surprisingly MUCH better than Magnus - it's a few issues before where you are. 42, maybe?
Try the Rai at that point. I still don't know why I hated the Malev War so much.

In addition, I'm right.

I don't think the Malev war issues were bad. I think I hated it at the time because the new Rai was a terrible replacement for the previous Rai. If the series had nothing to do with Rai I probably would have liked it.kevinbastos wrote:Try the Rai at that point. I still don't know why I hated the Malev War so much.

I enjoyed Magnus up until these last 2 issues I've read - 47 and 48.
Rai, I've read through 30 and I thought it was really good through the mid 20s.
Solar at #47 is just a completely different book when Jurgens took over. And it's not for the better.

I thought the Malev War was a great storyline. But the constant Rai changes were infuriating on a month by month read. As a reread, I liked it so much more than the first time around.

Yeah, that's pretty accurate for the ones I've read so far. What dumbass editor thought that was a good idea?
