Jumping into the Valiant universe for the first time
Hello, My name is Ken, I have been reading comics for about ten years now. I mainly read Marvel comics ( over half their titles) but for awhile now I have been wanting to check out what's up in the Valiant universe. Yesterday I finally took the plunge and subbed to every Valiant book and ordered Volume one tp's of both Bloodshot Reborn and Ninjak at my favorite comic shop. I also purchased my first valiant book today, Book of Death issue #1 on comixology and just finished reading it, it was a very good story I am excited to see where it goes. For the most part just wanted to introduce myself and get some info from y'all about the valiant universe and what I am gonna be in for. Also if you guys can be kind enough as to give me some reading recommendations for past stories, events in the valiant universe and what you believe is the best book and character in the valiant universe, that would be much appreciated. All of you have an awesome day and thanks for having me in the Valiant fan community.

Welcome Ken!
Valiant has a little bit of everything, and it's all connected... so you can read just your favorites or you can read everything and it still works.
What are your favorite Marvel titles?

"The Valiant" is a great jumping on story. You really can't go wrong with starting off with Harbinger, X-O Manowar, Shadowman, Archer & Armstrong, or Ninjak. If you start with The Valiant you'll get a taste of just about every title.
Egad, a base tone denotes a bad age!

Hi Greg, thanks for the nice welcome.
A few of my favorite marvel titles ( cause I read a lot of them and won't mention them all here) are Captain America, Captain Marvel, all of the avengers books, Guardian's of the Galaxy, Amazing Spider-Man, Magneto, Moon Knight, and Ant-Man. Also reading a lot of the Secret Wars tie-in books and extremely loving the main Secret Wars book. Oh, and also reading most of the Star Wars comics as well.

Welcome aboard ...Harbinger and X-O are always a good spot to jump in and you can still get back issues fairly cheap on eBay (or just spring for the trades).

Welcome, Ken, and I would agree with Depluto's recommendations to read X-O and Harbinger.depluto wrote:Welcome aboard ...Harbinger and X-O are always a good spot to jump in and you can still get back issues fairly cheap on eBay (or just spring for the trades).
