Nycc report
I just dropped by Clayton Henry's table. Amongst his original art for sale is what appears to be a Punk Mambo cover I do not recall seeing before.
I picked up a shadowman volume 2 #1 special edition for $8. How did I do?

Nice. Is it the ashcan or full-size comic? Either way it's a steal for $8.kjjohanson wrote:I picked up a shadowman volume 2 #1 special edition for $8. How did I do?

The full size. The same dealer had a lot of the Nintendo valiant comics, which he pointed out. I didn't realize it was such a great deal until later. Just knew it's one I didn't haveiggy101us wrote:Nice. Is it the ashcan or full-size comic? Either way it's a steal for $8.kjjohanson wrote:I picked up a shadowman volume 2 #1 special edition for $8. I think that the full-size is much harder to find.kjjohanson wrote:The full size. The same dealer had a lot of the Nintendo valiant comics, which he pointed out. The one book I checked was $20. I never had much interest in them. The dealer said at a previous should people from Valiant scooped up all of the Nintendo books he had at the time.nycjadie wrote:Definitely harder to find. Valiant Nintendo is also awesome at the right price.

DineshDinesh? I've seen the prices for Nintendo books being very high at shows. I view $20 as pretty high.kjjohanson wrote:The one book I checked was $20. I never had much interest in them. The Ninjak Operation Deadside covers will be glow in the dark. The Punk Mambo cover mentioned earlier is for Ninjak. Seems she's taking a step up in being a bad *SQUEE*

Oh, man... what if Bloodshot Island is a remote isolated place where they've dumped a bunch of soldiers who were previously part of the early experiential phases of the Bloodshot project?

Re: Nycc report
The covers feature the cgc labelling as if the entire comic was slabbed. With the characters reacting to having been slabbed.grendeljd wrote:What do they mean by CGC branded covers?kjjohanson wrote:Rai statue coming next year.

Re: Nycc report
I actually mentioned this idea to Dinesh a couple months ago through a message on the board here. When they announced it at the panel, they mentioned they had been working on this for a while. I spoke to him after the panel and commented that he hadn't mentioned that when I proposed the idea, and he clarified that they had been working on it since I proposed it. It's going to be fun trying to find a 9.8 of the 9.8 covers.Beware Cyclops wrote:The covers feature the cgc labelling as if the entire comic was slabbed. Are the Variants going to be 9.9 and the hard to find 10 ?kjjohanson wrote:I actually mentioned this idea to Dinesh a couple months ago through a message on the board here. Re: Nycc report
I thought it would be cool if they did a number of variations at the different grades, with a couple being incentives for the top grades, but I can understand that being a big risk, so it looks like there will be one per book. There were a couple of images show, but below is the one I got a pic of. It appears as if the label says "Valiant's CGC Variant Edition," which is what I imagine the actual label would read. I'll be trying to get a 9.8 to slab of the A&A, but I probably won't strive to get a 3.0 of the WotEW.jaden_sai wrote:Are the Variants going to be 9.9 and the hard to find 10 ?kjjohanson wrote:I actually mentioned this idea to Dinesh a couple months ago through a message on the board here.
