Re: Unity #23
Well said, DBS! Totally agree with the high marks.
VEI needs to extend or reboot Unity after #25 and throw the reins to Asmus for a year or two. This issue is as good as, or better than, any that were in the Avengers peak period of the late 70s. Can't remember the last time I read a comic that was a page turner--there's palpable forward motion to the story.

Re: Unity #23
This is the first issue I've liked, since the the solo one and done's. This is setting up to be a nice two parter, before the big finale. I almost wish they would of let Unity run until #50, with a new creative team, with a fresh approach. But I am curious to see what they have coming up, to replace Unity, team wise.

Re: Unity #23
Nice page turner, I loved Quartz's return....these are scabs!
Makes me sad that Unity is ending soon but it may make room for a whole new team. Maybe mix in a bunch of characters that don't have their own title. I would love to see Fitz, Quartz, Livewire, Shadowman, Hard Corps Palmer....I think that'd be cool. Focus on some of the behind the scenes Valiant characters.

Re: Unity #23
Guys over in the CBR boards picked up on this... Gilad has four scars rather then his normal three. Either an interesting story twist, or uber screw up. Hate to say it, I'm voting for screw up.
Good Morning, that's a nice tnetennba.

Re: Unity #23
Per Dinesh, it was from an injury occurring previous to this issue and should be cleared up by next issue.

Re: Unity #23
A good issue overall. I enjoyed seeing some more Hunters action. It'll be a fitting end to the title (for now).

Re: Unity #23
Why does ninjak's mask disappear when talking with Livewire and Gilad; then magically reappear mid sentence. Distracting to say the least, storyboard directions must've been jumbled

Re: Unity #23
I mentioned before that I was nervous about Asmus taking over for this arc, considering all his work in Q&W and how utterly insane it was. So I'm glad to say that he's exceeded my expectations. He kept himself in his proper box really well, he captured all the characters near-perfectly, and overall he made the transition from buddy comedy to action team-up flawlessly smooth. I really want to see the rest of this arc now, because in the event that Unity gets another run Asmus might deserve priority over Kindt.

Thought the issue was ok and a better read that Unity has been of late but I'm still glad it's ending, hopefully to make way for a more consistent ongoing.

Re: Unity #23
Okay issue for me. Felt pretty old school at times (extra panels per page adding some density to the narrative maybe?), but more than anything just feels like filler material.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month
