Is anyone buying the new Badger series?

Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

Is anyone buying the new Badger series?

Post by Cyberstrike »

Because Mike Baron said on Facebook:
My friends, the orders for Badger #1 came in and they were pathetic. One of the reasons is that retailers believe they have to purchase every Marvel and DC title, which are now flooding the market. My friends, if you believe in independent comics, do me a favor. Contact your local retailer and ask them to carry Badger. Thank you.
I've read a few issues of it and while it wasn't exactly my cup of tea it does have a cult following and we need more creator owned books.

I got this from Peter David's website.

Good post CS. I'm with you on this as far as needing more creator owned books.

Yep, thanks for the reminder, Cyber. I saw in the First Comics' newsletter a week or two ago that this was coming out. I just added this title to my Comixology list, and the title's numbers are very bad. There's only a total of 26 pulls.

I liked the original series....think I have a full run or close to it. Typical Baron satire, tongue in cheek stuff...i used to like it so may pick it up.

No. I know of the character just never really tried him. I read the write up in the LCS paper freebie, ComicShopNews, and he read a bit like a poor mans Animal Man. I wasn't sold on the character.

published successfully as a mature readers title that was outstanding in the 80's way before animal was anything more than a joke character. A real gem of a title this and worthy of trying the original 1st comics series ;)
