Re: The Jim Shooter Project
Jim lives 100 miles away from me and I don't go in that direction much anymore. This is your chance to get Jim Freakin Shooter to sign your Squee! I only got one response from the original offer from London... are the rest of you all filled up with JS auto then??? MAKES NO SENSE.
If someone offered me this, I would send every pre-unity I had.

Re: The Jim Shooter Project
I designed a set of three bookmarks: heavyweight 2" X 6" bookmarks. I ordered 100 of three styles: Rai #0, Solar #5, Harbinger #1. The image is on the top one inch, the other lower 5 inches is where Shooter signs them vertically.
I intend to make 100 (actually less) matched sets of this @ $10.00 each. Think of it this way- include them with your books you sell on eBay.
Set #1 goes to JMatt
Set #2 goes to Sonic
Set #3 goes to Greg
Set #7 goes to Magnus
They will arrive in a simple envelope... you take it and bag and board it. I intend to number half or less on the envelope, the rest are random #ed matched sets.
All sets will go to the people who supported this project... those that didn't kick in have to buy one from one of you. But I will point out: there is only one Jim Shooter and his auto has value.
This is the $10 item. It will be shipped to you free of charge thanks to Greg kicking in some money to fulfill this project, plus Greg will get a few extra sets (and I plan to keep a coupe for myself).
If you donated $50, expect five of them. Etc.
Do I need to point out JS has never signed a bookmark in his life!!!
PEOPLE!!! PM me if you did this project!

Re: The Jim Shooter Project
Spoke to Jim and JMatt. Thursday, June 9th is a go.
Spoke to Jim for half an hour and quasi-interviewed him.
"If you had to write Massarsky's Epitaph" the answer "I really don't know him"
"If you could write your own epitaph?" He kinda said history will decide the answer.

Thanks. Now I will NEVER get a BWS auto.
BWS and Layton had basically burned their bridges with Marvel and in essence, JS took them in and made VALIANT.

Re: The Jim Shooter Project
I sent Greg the answer to the question "Why do you do cons?" and hopefully he will clean it up and post it on this site.
I also ordered a "Rai #0 cake" for Shooter, just as I got Harry Lampert a Flash #1 cake and Sheldon Moldoff a Green Lantern cake for their 50th... Jim's getting old if he has cakes of his work in his honor.

Once again, making sure EVERYONE who kicked into this project PM's me their $ and address... I don't keep records (for your privacy) and rely on you folks to tell me who I owe what.
I got one shot at this and want everyone who helped to be in on it.

Re: The Jim Shooter Project
Also sent invites to Jeff Gomez and Barry Windsor-Smith.
It has become a semi-exclusive Commemoration for the life of Jim Shooter.
If anyone knows an email to Paul Levitz from DC he also has an invite coming.
And if I had the $$$, I'd also invite Stan Lee! SO THERE!

Re: The Jim Shooter Project
I count 85 sets "sold" through donations of sorts, 90 including me I guess. And there will be signing errors... 90 is a good number from 100.
I really hope you all spoke up to this thread...
So 90 sets is $900 and that buys the books, bookmarks and shipping, the award and cake.
This would be impossible without you excellent people!!!

Yeah, this thread should be titled "Joe Petrilak Unchained".doodlebird wrote:Thanks you for doing this honor for Jim, and on behalf of many us that is so great ! Thanks much

In our many phone calls and emails, Joe shared with me that he appears in two VH2 Bloodshot issues (by name, no less), #8 and #16. Pretty cool!

Re: The Jim Shooter Project
I never signed a VH2 BS #9 or #16.
Not saying I wouldn't though.
But that's not me, it''s just an homage to me and many others for VH2's best attempt... where's Jim?
Oh yeah- with me 45 hours from now.
