I've been behind my readings for some time.

But I just read Britannia today ... and was blown away with how good it was.

I also really liked the first issue of Gen Zero so I'm looking forward to issue #2.

I LOVE that VEI is still cranking out quality storytelling

The return of FVL and Milligan's best work for VEI .. takes some of the sting away from Dysart leaving (for now). And I guess Vditti potentially leaving with XO and Wrath ending.
Ha! Yeah! Nice! Any of those dudes in your head mosh?! - Flamingo

Yeah, a pretty strong chunk of books between last week & this week! I was a bit lukewarm on Gen Zero #1, but #2 was really great!!

Agreed, it's top notch work from both of those writers right now, but I'm still really feeling the loss of Dysart on the psiot corner of the VU. I'm still not sure I like seeing the Gen Zero kids infiltrating a high school as the main drive of that series (or more accurately, the first arc at least), but FVL is a really
good writer, and I was extra impressed by how he handled the characters in issue #2.

Josh posted something vague a week or two ago that kind of alludes to the fact that he's scripting the next chapter of whatever is following Imperium, so I'm happy to know it's coming sooner or later.
I like to draw stuff... http://grendeljd.deviantart.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My wife likes to draw stuff too, and she is better than me! [I'm very proud of her]... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sara-Dec ... ref=stream" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yeah I can't imagine any funnybook lover would really be disappointed in Valiant's output as of late. I've been trying to get other people on board.

i absolutely agree. well, not on x-o 50 (my fourth time trying to get on board with venditti's writing ... still unsuccessful), but man, britannia was so great and i am really surprised about the lukewarm reactions towards gen zero, cause i think it's an excellent psiot/mutant-kind of book. bloodshot was pretty steady, not in a spectacular way, but always delivering. rai's second act (from 13 on) had some great moments and sure, the 4001 ad event started stronger than it ended, but was still pretty nice in general.

especially with dc rebirth getting all the hype, i think vei's output has been under the radar, which sucks, cause it's never been better and i am very much looking forward to the next launches.

Oh, but give it time. I think we are all starting to see/feel a fantastic shift taking place. Faith/Gen Zero is reaching a younger group of readers, and VEI is doing a great job keeping them around. For the more adult/graphic based series, they've introduced (or will be introducing) Britannia/Savage/Divinity III. Here soon, we get Harbingers Renegade, which should be a blend of the two creating a bridge to the other comics. Sprinkle in these awesome webisodes with older characters like Ninjak, XO Manowar, Bloodshot. All of this will, or should reach it's climax in/near December or right before Christmas. Could this be what VEI was gaming for? invade the holiday season and be the hottest line come the New Year? By then, the shine on the DC Rebirth could have worn off a little, and the spotlight could be just waiting for VEI to take control of.

Jeez facepalm I sounded like a freakin commercial back there, but think about it. I kind of get this feeling THIS right here is the beginning of the wave.

Maybe not the beginning of the wave, that was in 2012. But the start of the (hopefully) biggest swell yet. I know the pics for live action Ninjak and Bloodshot have generated some buzz out there. Looking forward to getting some hard info on that project (and maybe some other irons they have in the fire) at NYCC this weekend. It does seem like a good buzz growing stronger.
