Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children+Legion tv series
Is it the best idea to start with Harbinger instead of Bloodshot? I would say Bloodshot is more distinct than what's out there.

Harbinger is the simplest concept and Faith is (currently) the highest profile character. It kinda makes sense to start there.
Manga, comics, who cares? They're pretty much the same thing.

I would have to agree. Psiots will be seen by most as a riff on X-Men. Perhaps they can draw a distinction by emphasizing the 'activation' aspects of psiots juxtaposed against Omegas who are born activated.Sven the Returned wrote:I would say Bloodshot is more distinct than what's out there.

But people compare Bloodshot to Deadpool. The only way to win is to put out a good movie.

Faith's high profile ain't worth munch when it comes to promoting a movie.armlessphelan wrote:Harbinger is the simplest concept and Faith is (currently) the highest profile character. It kinda makes sense to start there.

And nanites have become a catch-all over-simplified popular sci-fi concept that is near the point of being over-used, if one pays attention to enough geek genre & media.jeremycoe wrote:But people compare Bloodshot to Deadpool. The only way to win is to put out a good movie.
I agree with Jeremy - it's all about making quality material regardless of whether it's gonna be compared to anything else.

Legion's somewhat screwed itself by being on FX of all channels, and Peregrine is distinctly Burton in style.
And besides, Harbinger has always been seen as a deconstruction of the X-Men, with Toyo Harada himself as a deconstruction of Charles Xavier. The Harbinger movie is better off owning up to that then trying and struggling in redefining itself.

Isn't Chronicle already that deconstruction in the movie world?Watchtower wrote:Legion's somewhat screwed itself by being on FX of all channels, and Peregrine is distinctly Burton in style.

Does it matter? Not like multiple deconstructions of a work/genre can't coexist.Sven the Returned wrote:Isn't Chronicle already that deconstruction in the movie world?Watchtower wrote:Legion's somewhat screwed itself by being on FX of all channels, and Peregrine is distinctly Burton in style.

Yep, but standing out is a huge advantage.Watchtower wrote:Does it matter? Yep, writing right and directing it right will be key as the concept are not revolutionary. I always though A&A wous the most original with a great backstory to explore and bring in so much els in the Valiant universe.
