Anything in it that ties the universe together? Anything that ties up any of the loose ends adding connectivity to the universe.

It's a stand-alone story, set in King Arthur times. Sadly, there were no prams. :D

There are no direct connectivity ties, but I definitely got a "Britannia feel" from the story... which probably benefits Britannia more than the Immortal Brothers.
Britannia is "off by itself" in the Valiant universe, but more books like this one and it will definitely start to feel more connected.

I enjoyed this book more than I expected. Great to see the immortal brothers back together!
There was a lot of nice Easter eggs and I loved the Britannia connection!

I've missed FVL's A&A, I hope Valiant continues to keep checking in on their characters that are out of circulation. *cough* Quantum & Woody *cough*

what were the Britannia connections?

Still not a fan of FVL and this reminded me why! facepalm

As with FVL's A&A, how come Armstrong speaks in modern vernacular? Ivar being a time traveller makes sense that he uses modern slang in medieval times but why would Armstrong?

I guess ultimately I don't find FVL's humour funny, so this story fell flat for me.

2.5/5 - very missable

This is a made up story by Archer, I mean he inserted himself into it. If we are to look for universe connections, we have to assume there is another character in Arthurian times with Archer's exact power set. So it's really hard to consider that a 'continuity" issue.

The framing sequence had Archer telling the story to Faith who's in bed sick, with con-crude, lol. It doesn't from my knowledge, move any plot points forward. But I thought it was a cool way to tell the story, which was aight....

liked all the continuity in this

we find out how Aram met Percival (we first saw him in Archer & Armstrong #22)
a survivor of the tree wielding race of purple giants from Legends of The Geomancer made an appearance in that montage too

and finally I just loved seeing archer being written properly again, from what i read of A&A rafer roberts really did not understand what van lente had laid out for archer whatsoever. you can really see in this story that he is progressing towards become the great figure his followers in the faraway speak about.

best comic from valiant in ages in my opinion, hope the other one shots are this good.

Another podcast that makes the story even better!

Lots of background info on the Arthurian legend. :thumb:

Unfortunately you left Jeff's second question unanswered: What's with the fly like a hawk or swim like a fish reference?

I believe in some Arthurian legends, Merlin was instructing Arthur about life and actually transformed him temporarily into a fish to swim around in a stream, and into a bird to fly around in the sky to learn certain lessons.

I guess I liked this when it ended, but in parts it was just really non-consequential and it just felt like a funny take on the characters that doesn't matter at all. Nothing wrong with that, but when there's only six titles... I rather have something else.

The Morgan/Geomancerwas actually pretty cool, I have to admit, but this felt like a distraction, even if it had a cool ending.

The only part of the story I enjoyed is when Aram said his "little immortals were freezing." :D That was funny! :thumb:

You're incorrect, Percival is a preexisting character from issue 22 or FVL's run. Why he exists is anyone's guess, and why he is so similar to Archer, but Archer did not insert himself in this story. This story came from Armstrong, he could have made it up but story wise there is no indication that this wouldn't be in continuity.
