Top 10 Best Hand-to-Hand fighters in the Valiant Universe

Post by DirtbagSailor »

Not talking about Aric flying or shooting energy beams.

No Harada or Pete tearing a person in half with their mind.

This is Hand-to-Hand skills, character vs character.

A few candidates are;

-------------------------------------------------------

Aboto
Achillia
Ana (War Mother)
Antonius Axia
Amanda McKee (Livewire)
Aram Anni-Padda (Armstrong)
Aric of Dacia (X-O Manowar) - As a man; No armor
Borz Umarov (Gravedog)
Charlie Palmer (Gunslinger) - As a man; No powers
Colin King (Ninjak)
Commander Trill - As a Vine; No armor
Fitzy
Gilad Anni-Padda (Eternal Warrior)
Jack Boniface (Shadowman/Magpie)
Kalam Anni-Padda
Kevin Sauvage (Savage)
Lord Vine - 99
Mary Maria
Obadiah Archer (Archer)
Primary Reebo
Quartz
Rai
Rampage
Ray Garrison (Bloodshot)
Roku
Spylocke
Warmonger

-------------------------------------------------------

Who are YOUR TOP TEN?

Who makes the list, and why?

This, for the top three at least.

On second thought, Armstrong might be "least beatable" but his hand-to-hand combat is nothing special. Those two categories aren't necessarily synonymous.

Yeah, Bloodshot should be fourth and Rai fifth. I don't know enough about a lot of the side characters to defend choosing them. I would love to have Aric on my list but without Shanhara he wouldn't stand a chance except maybe against Mary Maria.

A good way to look at each ranking is by who is most likely/capable of defeating someone else.

For example, can Roku defeat Lord Vine - 99? Can Gravedog defeat Mary Maria?

When thinking about Ninjak's hand to hand, I always fall back on his ability to ensure the surroundings are in his favor. Looking at Divinity III, Stalinverse, I remember how Ninjak made Bloodshot come to him in the frozen wasteland of Siberia to fight him. With the Nanites slowed, he killed Bloodshot (chopped off his head).

I know he's done the same thing with others as well, thus he is my #1 choice

Face to face with other VEI characters, Archer would be up there, but I wonder if he would succumb to a mental type of warfare... Could someone wear him down before the physical hand to hand took place?

Roku is a cool wildcard, as we just don't know enough about here.

Gilad and Aram have to be involved in the conversation, although I wonder if they could be tricked like Bloodshot. Aram, maybe. I would think it would be near impossible for Gilad to be tricked... But maybe. It would have to be some serious psychological warfare in order to chip away at him. Does he even suffer any type of PTSD?

I'd go with

1 Archer
2 Ninjak

From there it gets murky.

I'd say 4001's Rai X or Gilad.

either one of the brothers should be kinda immune to psi warfare weardown after a few 1000 years and remember times are easy now compaired to when you had to fight every day to make it in the pre roman days and then the dark ages our idea of bad could be a chillax day for either of them after all the crap they have seen

Ninjak seems to have a really difficult time dealing with Roku.

A key read for Fitzy (great issue) would be Ninjak #8.

If I recall, Aboto was a complete monster, and it was only his love for Sai that led to his end.

Archer and Gilad then everyone else.

Archer has the same training as Mary Maria, plus his Psiot ability to download any and all fighting techniques.

Gilad has been honing his fighting skills for Millennia, plus has no fear of death and the mystical backing of the Earth. Aram is all brute strength with no real will to fight.

Second level:
Ninjak - but I wonder how he’d actually do without his gadgets.
Rai - created to fight, but haven’t seen enough of him actually winning.
Bloodshot - training plus healing factor.

Straight up hand to hand, sans any powers? Axia, Savage, Mary Maria, Ninjak, Aric (no Shanharra) and maybe War Mother.

If Bloodshot makes the list then Rampage has to be in the conversation. Also Ivar is no slouch in a fight. And what about the goat? No one's gonna punch a pregnant goat...

That's because he holds back when he fights her because he still loves her.

I'd lump all the non-humans separately. Who would win in a fight between these guys:

Commander Trill - As a Vine; No armor
Lord Vine - 99
Primary Reebo
Quartz

I'll always root for Lord Vine-99 first, but my money's on Quartz.

I want to say Gilad or RAI, but I think Ninjak takes it.
