My thoughts on VE2.
So I personally will continue to read, collect, and promote Valiant.
I believe that not only does it honor what Shooter, Layton, BWS, and Dinesh have built over the past 26+ years, but also those who continue to build the Valiant Universe.
I'm talking about Kindt, LaRosa, Suayan, Lemire, Simons, Gage, Heisserer, Djurdjevic, Benard, Giorello, Crain, Allen, Maurer, CAFU, Perez, Henry, Segovia, Lente, Evans, Houser, Sauvage, Roberts, Diggle, Hairsine, Portela, Ryp, Kano, Lupacchino, De la Torre, Mann, Milligan, Johnson, Nord, Guedes, Gorham, Reber, Dalhouse, Rodriquez, and Dysart (and countless others I missed here).
There have been, are, and will be writers, inkers, colorists, pencilers, letterers, sales teams, marketing specialists, editors, and so much more that all come together to form what is VALIANT.
It is also we, the fans that have done the same.
Yes, we would all prefer that Dinesh remain in charge; however, those are not the cards that have been dealt. We (and I for one) should not be so fast to turn our backs on a publisher that we have all enjoyed for so long. We should not turn our backs on the many good people who remain and continue to create the magic that is VALIANT!

Re: My thoughts on VE2.
Well said. I'm not gonna drop my pull list just either. At the very least, I plan on getting X-O Manowar, Bloodshot Salvation, and Ninja-k to completion.
What these changes will do is make me a little more apprehensive to picking up new books. It has undermined my confidence in the quality of the books. So if my current titles end, and I don't see any other titles I feel are as good as they should be, it's possible I won't have any Valiant books on my pull list. That's what scares me. At no point, since I discovered Valiant back in 2015, did the thought occur to me that I might not want to read Valiant anymore. Now, that thought has occurred to me.
But of course, we'll have to wait and see. It's possible Valiant will stay good for a while. After all, even in the 90s, VALIANT had some good books post-Shooter.
Sorry if this seems like a tangent. I'm just trying to organize my own thoughts.

Re: My thoughts on VE2.
As a consumer, I'll buy books I want to read for as long as they're on the shelf (or in my pull list). Valiant/DMG will get my $ as long as they release produce I want to read.
At this stage (until we see the May solicitations), that means I'm on board with:
floppies:
Bloodshot Salvation
Ninja-K
Ninjak vs the Valiant Universe
Quantum and Woody
Shadowman
trades

Absolutely. As long as stuff is good, I'll buy and read it in some format.

Re: My thoughts on VE2.
While I don't support Mintz/DMG's apparent philosophy of just farming the Valiant IP for money in other media sources, I'm not planning on dropping the comics just yet myself. Like I said elsewhere, if they go to Birthquake levels of stupid and lack of quality, then I might be out. (I quit in the 90's when they started double shipping Birthquake crap) If they reboot the line or slap new logos on everything to highlight the 'new era' (like "Acclaim Comics - Valiant Heroes"), then I'll have a hard time continuing past that point. If they keep the current flow going past HW2, don't rock the boat too much, and Warren, Fred, and most of the current crew remain onboard, then I'll likely hang around to see how things go.
TLDR: I mourn the passing of the reign of the Nerd Boss, but I'm not throwing Valiant away because I'm mad. They'll have to chase me away with bad product.

Re: My thoughts on VE2.
My thoughts are most similar to you fellas here in this thread as although I'm hugely disappointed at what I consider to be the likely impending second death of Valiant, I'm going to stick with the company until at the very least new titles hit the shelves to make judgement upon. After all, it doesn't particularly matter to me who's running the company or how the company is running so long as I'm enjoying its output.
The way I see it is that probably at least a good six months'-worth of comics have already been planned out for publishing under the original VEI creative team and so there's no reason they shouldn't be okay. However, when newly commissioned titles start being announced I'll be thinking very hard about to what extent I want to continue buying Valiant comics.
It bothers me that "no expansion" of the comic publishing line is touted by Mintz, and I can't see how, with this ethos, Valiant can continue to publish comics of any quality for any extended period of time, and so it's only a matter of time before Valiant disappears from the contemporary media world
