I'm sticking with the books. Warren and Fred are still running the publishing side and they know Dino's wishes.
Now, I'm fully aware it could be Acclaim 2.0 but until that time......

I still remain cautiously optimistic about the takeover. I do agree it sucks that the main creative force behind the company is on his way out. Way too reminiscent of what happened with Jim Shooter. Hopefully, the new guy running the show knows enough to stay out of the comics side. If anything, maybe they'll throw a bit more cash their way to get some more big name talent (not discounting anyone's work to date, by the way) to craft some storylines or do art. Imagine a Valiant comic written by Chris Claremont with Jim Lee artwork. Sure, maybe a pipe dream but you never know. Ultimately, the comic storylines should drive the content of what ends up in the movies, so great stories still need to be told from the comic end.
The new owners should also be fully aware of what happened when Acclaim took over and try and avoid that playing out again. I'm not sure Valiant, as a comic book publisher, can survive another reboot. So now the real wildcard is what DMG will do to cross Valiant over into other media. Looks like Bloodshot could get greenlit any time now and Harbinger probably isn't far behind. Dr. Mirage is now with the CW (or so the articles claim) and Quantum and Woody has the Russo brothers behind it. Seems like a solid start. I just hope DMG avoids the trap of licensing out their characters to too many separate companies, making a cohesive cinematic universe improbable. Imagine a motion picture version of the original Unity. Blockbuster material there.
Curious to see what Valiant products may end up getting produced now. Bloodshot band-aids? Quantum and Woody cereal (with whole-grain Klang!)? Harbinger-branded aspirin?

No dream of mine, I'd rather have Dysart with any of the current artists.Funcha wrote:Imagine a Valiant comic written by Chris Claremont with Jim Lee artwork. Sure, maybe a pipe dream but you never know.

Re: Let’s quantify our views on the sale of Valiant
There are so many threads here at VF and on facebook about this, with all type of speculation (10% right, 95% wrong
) and all types of statements about quitting and boycotts, that I had to sit down and write down a statement, specially after chatting with Dino today at lunch (no info about what happened, sorry). Please read
