Is that book really that tough to find in 9.8?

Not a mystery seller. I know the guy, and have sold to him several times in the past. I’ve also bid against him in the past for some of these books.

This was NOT a hidden hord or stockpile; it was part of a collection built over the past few years like many of us have done.

Sorry, my comment is slightly askew to the OP - thats my bad. There were a couple of other posts recently about big books, so it just had a bit of omnipresence of a "happening" the community was at least eyes/ears perked to in my mind. I was not referring to this seller, specifically, as a mystery seller. There are two or three others, one of which has his very own thread, another of which I have bought beautiful books from recently. Collectively, they all represent a large outpouring of big books recently. I suppose that was more my point.

I was keeping track of the items as they were ending. It's cool that he cleared over $10,000 in bids for these books.

Not to be a corrector..... but his final sold prices was $8,491, and then minus the 13% (average) for eBay and PayPal fees,

He actually made $7,379

Still, that a nice days work

It's good. I was just referring to the bid amounts. The book that surprised me the most was Harby 8. What makes that Unity book stand out over the others?

Even though the book itself is common, the there are only 19 Harbinger #8 CGC 9.8, and only 4 sales recorded on GPA analysis since 2011.

I personally sold two copies on these boards (after 2011), which obviously wasn’t reflected in GPA analysis. IIRC, the last one I sold back around 2015 for about $75 SHIPPED, IINM.

This book is very "wavy". It is very hard to find a flat copy.

I have over 100 unread overstock copies and I had to buy my 9.8 from someone else.

Apparently, two people did for it to go for that price.

Yeah there is not much else you can do if you want one. You can wait or you can pay up. it's not like anyone is submitting any more. A few more sales at $500 might get a few sent in.
