I'm not really interested in crapping on this, because I knew it is not for me, but I didn't really enjoy it. It feels like a CW show to me, which i guess a lot of people enjoy so good for the production, they did a lot with what must have been a little.

Seems kind of funny to me to try to judge this by comparing it to old bad movies though. I read valiant because the books are good, not because they are good when compared to bad old Big 2 books.

I hope people who aren't already invested in the universe like the series.

Episode 2 was superb! The fight scene between Ninjak and Bloodshot was outstanding. XO appearance

This series has exceeded my expectations so far 5/5 :thumb:

Looks like your new here and maybe new to valiant. Some of us most of use have been waiting 27 years to see our heros on screen. Really this is pretty awsome for a free web series. Lets see marval and dc do anything free for fans.

I really enjoyed this episode! Bloodshot vs. Ninjak was great.

Some things are starting to annoy me though.

I think Ninjak's characterization is a little off. I know he's cracked a joke before, but the show makes him out to be almost silly and lighthearted. For example, I can't even imagine the Ninjak from the comics palling around with Neville talking about children. And I don't think he would ever like a woman enough to let her live in his apartment.

Gilad's costume is nearly perfect, but John Morrison just looks too damn clean. He looks like a man from the 21st century, which is exactly what Gilad is not.

Capshaw is fine as a reimagination, but is GATE seriously just not a thing? Is MI6 like in charge of every extraterrestrial/supernatural/superhuman threat?

X-O Man OF War. Are you *SQUEE* kidding me? I thought Dinesh and Josh were coproducing this? How did they let that slip through? It's seriously embarassing. facepalm

That said, I can't wait to see how/if Ninjak takes down X-O, and I am just ridiculously pumped to see Ninjak fight Archer.
agent_graves wrote:The second episode was much shorter, but still good. I’m wondering now, what the total runtime might be.... :thumb:

I know they needed a big Hollywood star to play Bloodshot, but I really like this guy Jason David Frank, as Bloodshot.... :?
I heard somewhere that it's going to be 78 minutes. Which makes sense from what we've seen so far.
Episode 1: 22 min.
Episode 2-6: about 12 minutes each.

I've been reading since 2013.

I'm glad you guys like it but like i said, I'm not the intended audience for this and thats ok. I pretty universally think live-action comic book stuff is awkward and embarassing, I'm only interested in the comics. I think it is funny to invoke the Big 2 when judging Valiant's work, I like Valiant comics for what they are, not what they aren't.

I hope the webseries is financially and critically successful.

Of course everyone invokes the big two when they talk about Valiant. The Valiant marketing department constantly mentions Valiant as the third largest comic universe. Third behind who?

The comparisons to Marvel and DC low-budget live action is completely fair. Valiant created something low-budget first... just like Marvel and DC did. How does it compare?

You recognize that you are not the intended audience. I wonder what you are the intended audience for? You sould like you want everything above Marvel and DC quality even though there's no comparison in budgets. I'm wondering if you require the same in other areas of your life. Do you get filet mignon for 99cents? How about a Ferrari for $25 a month?

Pretending you have a "higher standard" that's fine for us to accept but not good enough for you is exactly what a troll does. I will give you this much credit... you got the "t" and the "ll" in your name... so at least you're almost accurately named.

Simple question: why comment at all? You aren't the intended audience, you are "only interested in the comics." So, what's the point of even being in this topic? I think it might rhyme with "to bowl".

but, one thing, guys- I did not read his comment as trollish. He was actually polite, just failed the etiquette test of not posting in a thread about something you do not like, because, well, it would be one thing to be disappointed while expecting a great thing, its another when you already are biased against the thing.

If someone starts a thread about how great they thought Dead Drop was, I would not post there that I hated that turd of a comic. We have neutral threads on the released comics forum. If I want to say I hated Dead Drop I go there, because I care about the medium it was presented. I would take the Dead Drop love thread as a thread not for me. Hope I'm not sounding condescending or anything like that. Likewise, Tell doesn't like LA adaptations, hence this thread was not for him.
But trolling, I think it was harsh guys. He was polite, despite coming here to basically say that he did not like it because he doesn't actually care for these sort of things, but he did not mock the product. Did he went for the throat of BiTS or VEI? No. I think he could have been treated a little more nicely, that's all. Some people - like this one - might read your posts (Greg and Paradise) as jumping on the dude. Give the new kid a break, gents- I personally have more problems with old members vulturing the DMG thing. Those ARE trolls. Tell was not trolling, imho.

Aaaaaanyway, can I now post my opinion as a VEI and LA adaptations fan? :D

Ok...

I only saw the first episode. So, maybe things will get better.
Acting was borderline-awful- except Livewire, Capshaw and SonicDan :thumb: - my wife commented when I was watching it that it sounded like a B-movie made with ex-porn stars, Ninjak's personaliy and delivery just sucks, I can't root for this dude/believe in his acting, Roku facepalm Bloodshot and Armstrong were really, really bad casting choices, acting skills wise. And the X-O computer generated bit made me  . Sorry, it looked fake, every bit of the way. The uniforms were really well done 75%, except for this XO Man of War  Roku (she was really the worst part of this, I'm sorry to say) and Gilad, who looked like a RL version of Gilad. :P What I mean is, it looks way too cosplay. The uniform does not feel "real". But its the comic book look, 100%. It is the medium's problem, not this film actually. I don't know if I want to see an EW movie with a guy looking exactly like the comic. The transition does not seem appealing to me.

That said, for a low budget production free to watch online, its not bad. Its not bad. But its also not that good, imho. And the h stands for honest AND humble.

Hope i'm not on the troll list, now. 8-) I wanted this to be Great for what it is, but I felt it did not do justice to the company's characters. But, again, this is free and not a big bucks thing- pretty sure the movies will be a completely different monster. And for the first try, its not a total failure, buit I do not think it will interest new readers in these dudes/dudettes, honestly. May I be proven wrong. :hope:

Greg Ed you guys were a bit harsh. Remember we dont want to push fans away from this awsome group. I got jumped on for stuff back when I first joined and even quit because I felt bullied. My name nonplay represents that bulling I wont play and ive been here alot longer than most of you know.
Shadow tunga wow dude this isnt the last jedi here were talking about its a low budget first look at our heros on screen. And really the suits looked cosplay what did you expect. Full on cgc with a million dollar budget.
I wouldnt want the charaters to have costume changes in their first appearance on screen. Gilad looks perfect and sounds perfect. Right out of the pages he jumped.
If someone gives you a free gold do you complain its not a 9.8 cgc no you show your appreciation.

There is definitely a difference between seeing a topic and joining in the discussion to say "I didn't enjoy this, for these reasons" versus joining in the discussion to say "I wasn't ever going to enjoy this because I personally have higher standards than you people".

The first is discussion, the second is trolling.

I have to say that the 2nd episode was better than the first. But, alas, it was just a taste. Episode two seemed to be over too quickly (just when it was getting traction).

If the rest of the episodes are only 12 minutes long it will definately be a must for Valiant to "package them together" into a single show for viewing all at one sitting.

Here's an example of a criticism intended for actual discussion:

Roku is watching Ninjak through the audio-visual implanted nanites, so Ninjak has to save the Alcotts by fighting his own agency/friends... but why can't he put his cellphone behind his back and text Neville the what/why of his actions? Even junior high kids can text without looking at their screens. :D

It's alright if you didn't like it. Ninjak Vs. is only the first of seven other live action projects Valiant has lined up. It's also the smallest in scale compared to the other seven which are full length t.v. shows and films. There's a demographic for Ninjak Vs. It doesn't include everyone, but there's still an audience for something like this. Personally I enjoyed it. I look forward to more content like this, and I hope that Ninjak Vs. is a success. Look at it this way, Ninjak Vs. is a web-series focused on fight scenes between comic book characters. So logically, Ninjak Vs. should be compared to other web-shows that can likewise be found online. In comparison to those other web-shows, Ninjak Vs. is an impressive debut. It has stellar effects, amazing set pieces, and gorgeous costumes. People will watch this for the fights scenes, and I doubt they'll be disappointed. It's a series targeted towards the "Who would Win in a Fight?" audience. I strongly believe it'll satisfy that audience. It's already better than some other web-show in the genre. Mainly because it doesn't spend ten minutes giving an excessively long breakdowns of each character's powerset and their various triumphs.

I've already started sharing the show to non-Valiant fans that I hope will be interested. The real test is the see how they feel about the series. My younger brother happens to be the person who showed me the Death Battle X youtube series. So I'm anxiously awaiting for his opinion. Either way, we're all friends here. We want the same thing, to see Valiant succeed.

Now where's the fun in that?

Nonplayer, if you read my post, you the Last Jedi comment is kinda pointless, because I actually always knew that it was going to be a low-budget poduction- and I said it's not bad, for what it is. Just not that good.
The cosplay comment I made was directly to Gilad (the other suits look good, I said 75% of it, cept Man of War, Roku's whole look - not just the suit - and Gilad), and that's my opinion. Just like you have yours. :thumb:
Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

ShadowTuga wrote:Nonplayer, if you read my post, you the Last Jedi comment is kinda pointless, because I actually always knew that it was going to be a low-budget poduction- and I said it's not bad, for what it is.
Not possible. Your a dude on a forum.

Thought the first episode was a little rough, but the second episode was much better. Finally seeing these characters in live-action is just too much for me to dislike it (despite some questionable acting).
