Re: Ninjak Vs is finally out!!
If dmg take this down and tries to bury the web series there will be hell to pay. They can screw over the nerd boss thats buisness I guess. but a move like that would have me speaking out against valiant and dmg for final. If any one who knows me knows how I feel about Dark horse and how they handled the gold key titles. to this day Ive still not bought a dark horse title. And dmg like dynamite (sucks) would get worse than a (sucks) after their name. Maybe (blows) (sucks balls)
I Miss the good old days.

Re: Ninjak Vs is finally out!!
Ok, i finished seeing 3 and 4 back to back. Now I wanted to see these. That says a lot about ep 2's tight pace and OVERALL QUALITY.
I really feel for the guy playing Gilad- his lines remind me of those american Ninjutsu experts like "Ashida Kim" and whatnot. Yada yada the soul of the warrior yada yada yada. And his suit is the most comicbooky of them all, Aric included. That said, he could have chosen another approach, more of a rough guy that "smells like dogs". If this makes sense.
I liked Aric in these eps, a lot. Guy was actually Aric for a few moments, like in the chapel. That whole "i'm not some brute, anymore" look on his face- nailed it! And damn, we saw his bolts and they were green- that made me geeky. The armor is rough, yeah, but a CGI big bucks can do an awesome armor.
I'm honestly now thinking that the Ninjak's actor was a victim of the (poor, imho) editing, of the first episode. Waaaaaaay better Ninjak.
A&A, sorry the less the better. It takes one away from the plot, but I understand the "commercial" nature of this movie as in, this is to show how different and all the characters are.
AND I'LL SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST: I LOVED JACK!!!!!! When I saw the black smoke cloud I actually smiled like a fanboy. I loved this outfit, loved it. I hope this is a new look for Jack in the future- way better than black suit only. The rags add personality to it. Only downside is the obvious make-up, but its forgiven given the medium its been presented. The guy had a great voice and looks.

Will it? I mean, if someone from this very site doesn't find a way to rip the file, it might just be lost to time. Honestly, Valiant is one of the tiniest fandoms on the internet, and Ninjak vs. is barely getting any marketing outside of other Valiant fans. I don't think we can rely on the "it's the internet, it'll always be here" approach this time.greg wrote:It's the internet, guys. This thing will always be somewhere.
There might even be various fan edit versions from all the copies that will be out there.
You can't unrelease internet video... you really shoot yourself in the foot if you even try. No one beats the Streisand Effect.
EDIT: God, if those *SQUEE* seriously take this down after a week, what would be the *SQUEE* point? Is DMG seriously okay with simply wasting the probably-not-insubstantial amount of money that was spend trying to get this thing together? The finished product is done. Why not let it sit on YouTube for other people to stumble upon? I just don't see the downside here.
I have faith in MoonChild though.

Has there been word anywhere on how many views these episodes are getting?
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

I a man loving this series. Just wait until you see the A&A fight scene..so good! Jack was great. Not what I expected but I loved it. So much drama with this series (behind the scenes) so I am trying to just enjoy right now. Love reading what everyone is thinking here.

Am I the only one that thought that the characterisation of Jack was completely off from the comics? I found it a little odd. On the other hand, I'm liking Michael Rowe's work as Ninjak a lot - accent aside.

Re: Ninjak Vs is finally out!!
It was definitely off from the comics, but I prefer a Jack who knows what he's talking about to Jack that doesn't know anything. This portrayal seemed like a mixture of Shadowman and Idris Elba's Heimdall... which isn't a bad choice for a Jack that knows his stuff.SlyTrooper wrote:Am I the only one that thought that the characterisation of Jack was completely off from the comics? Re: Ninjak Vs is finally out!!
I get it. I really don't like that Jack's costume looks like it was drawn with the icing packet from Toaster Strudel... but when you picture this whole series as Valiant's own personal B-Movie... well, I can see a cult following cosplaying as Strudel Shadowman.SlyTrooper wrote:I can dig that. Really enjoying watching this every afternoon (comes out at 4pm here). Rowe is fab as Ninjak, the opening part of ep.5 was especially great. Only one episode left, I really hope it gets rescued from oblivion and cut into one long episode. fingers crossed!

No, you’re not. I wasn’t really feeling the actor, something felt off in his approach. But his entrance and exit was on point...SlyTrooper wrote:Am I the only one that thought that the characterisation of Jack was completely off from the comics? I found it a little odd. The beginning was really hard to sit through, as are the scenes with Neville, but the fight scene in this episode against Archer and Armstrong was pretty good, and quite funny...

Re: Ninjak Vs is finally out!!
Finished ep. 5.
Ok... I think this was one of the best so far. A&A were awesome in the fighting dept. and I felt that Armstrong, specially, was way more "in character", and not so overacted. I liked this a lot, honestly. Makes me wonder if after the first episode was shot the director asked the crew to read some of the comics. Its a whole world of difference, from the 1st to the rest.
I just cringe everytime I hear bollocks, like its the one thing that every british person says every 5 minutes. We got it, he's a brit.
Oh, and I understand now why this Gilad- guy's not even an actor, he's a pro wrestler. Had no idea.
I'm kinda hyped for the finale, and that's something I never thought of when I finished the 1st episode.

Yes!!!! That's what I was wondering. I love this "Guardian of the Deadside" role, even if its not a comic book thing.greg wrote:It was definitely off from the comics, but I prefer a Jack who knows what he's talking about to Jack that doesn't know anything. Re: Ninjak Vs is finally out!!
Episode 5 was the best yet and I really think Kevin Porter gets Armstrong, the fight was sweet and was pretty tightly done. Overall I'm sad this comes to an end tomorrow.
