Improvement on recent issues and enough room for optimism that this arc will be interesting.
The focus on Capshaw was good and it was nice to see another side of her personality. The ‘relationship with another woman’ storyline seemed to come from nowhere and was over within a couple of pages, made me think what was the point? It’s hard not to be dubious about the motivation behind this ‘plot twist’?
It was good to see the continuity ties to Eternity and as writer of both books I’d like to see Kindt really stick the landing on this arc.
3.75/5 - promising

Finally out of the whole "let's stall and write backstory issues" thing that plagued far too many valiant issues as of late. Pacing wise we have a very slow start. The emotional parts with Lady Colonel were pretty good, but still very slow and far too many pages for what it was. Really should have opened with the alien ship coming down in the outback, shooting down some warplanes or something to really show us the danger and why we should care about all of this (if I were editing this). It takes a long time to build up to caring (about half the issue) and then gets interesting after Aric joins in the mission and we get in there for the most part. Easy fixes could have made this a lot better.
I'm biased to some degree cuz I hate the Aric personal stuff that was developed a few issues ago and I just don't want to see this plot thread at all. But that was only like one page of it, so it didn't hurt the issue too much.
Art is kinda "wooden" for lack of a better term. Lots of like very rigid expressions and poses. Not sure if it's the pencils or the way the coloring is but the coloring accentuates it.
I'm glad we're finally progressing but I'm kinda in meh mode about it.

I enjoyed it, it's nice to have Aric back in the armor and our present, about to rumble with some Eternity characters that appear to have the upper hand.
It was slow, however, and the pages spent virtue signaling could have been better spent on more action.
But I'm glad to see Aric out of the past! Loved the art!
Chris, loved your Saana impersonation!

I'm pleased that the ties to Eternity exist, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this plot plays outDallow Spicer1 wrote:It was good to see the continuity ties to Eternity and as writer of both books I’d like to see Kindt really stick the landing on this arc.
