Invoice was entered 11/26. The holidays no doubt slowed things down a bit.

Re: Order at CGC!
Did you have your subs pressed?
I won't even submit a book anymore without it. At a convention near me maybe two years ago I had planned to do some onsite grading. While at the CGC booth to submit the girl there said that they weren't doing convention pressing anymore because of too many issues (I think she cited a few of them, but whatever). I didn't submit my books.

I didn’t get them pressed. It seemed complicated when I looked into it. What’s the procedure to get it done?

- I'm just glad it was pretty good, long and drawn out. (that's what she said.)

At cons it’s super easy, you just fill out one extra form. I haven’t mailed in before, but I think it’s about the same.StarBrand wrote:I didn’t get them pressed. It seemed complicated when I looked into it. What’s the procedure to get it done?
It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

Basically if you submit at a convention:StarBrand wrote:I didn’t get them pressed. It seemed complicated when I looked into it. What’s the procedure to get it done?
1. First confirm that the grading company (CGC or CBCS, ideally) will be performing on-site pressing as part of their convention turnaround service. This way you are invoicing the pressing along with the slabbing regardless of whether or not the grading company is doing the pressing on their own, or if they've partnered up with a steamer from the convention.
2. Complete your invoice via online form before you go to the convention if you can (usually this is preferred and therefore possible).
3. Go to the convention, ask the receiver at the grader's booth to review your invoice with you. Confirm your books with them and confirm that they will get them pressed and that you've invoiced correctly for this service.
4. Say "ok, thank you" and drop off your books on a Thursday night or Friday morning for pickup on Sunday evening. Don't bet on anything else.
if you submit via mail:
1. Call your grading company and ask them if they are working with any specific pressers (there are a ton of guys out there doing this service out of their basement, man. Even I considered studying the theory, buying some industrial pressing equipment and turning it into an art if I could, but I've got too much going on to embrace it right now).
2. Follow their invoicing instruction because many mail-order presses go from you via mail to whoever your pressing guy is, and then from that guy via mail to your grading company.
3. Mail your stuff and hope that your 9.8s and 9.6s don't become 9.2s and 8.5s in transit twice, lol! Try to package your stuff in a fashion similar to how DCBS ships books. Crib their specific foam inserts if you can.

Re: Order at CGC!
Just got my grades today. I only got four 9.8s out of the eight books I submitted. Thankfully though the three most important books are all 9.8s, so I’m very happy.
