Wow, quiet thread?
This was a very solid mini-series, especially welcome as we’ve grown accustomed to a lot of mediocrity lately. Definitely ‘stuck the landing’ on this one, felt like the finale was well paced and not rushed. Nice ending with Eternal Warrior deciding to end his period in seclusion which opens the path for wider involvement in the Valiant U.
Hope it’s not the last we see of Imperatrix Virago, she was a good character design and would be wasted as a one series wonder. Intriguing that Syntilla returns at the end too, another good character to come out of this series.
Only thing I didn’t like was some of the cheesy dialogue which felt too ‘quippy’.
4/5 for both the issue and the series.

Maybe, like me, most felt like it was an inconsequential mini-series?Dallow Spicer1 wrote:Wow, quiet thread?
I don't know, it was all a big bag of fine. Nothing wrong in writing or art with the execution of the story, but there just wasn't a terribly interesting story here. Generic feeling, Nebula-looking, new space villain shows up. Gilad and the Geomancer have fight. Good guys win. The end.
Honestly, it's more about what, if anything, is done with the characters from here on that will define this mini's worth.

Picked up the trade this week so I'll post my thoughts here for the whole series.
I thought it was solid. Some dialogue was a bit silly but on the whole it was a good story. It felt like a proper Valiant book!

I feel like he's more of a father figure rather than her actual father.

I thought it was hinted by Dr Mirage and that she might turn evil from what Gilad used to save her life.kinggirlfriend wrote:I feel like he's more of a father figure rather than her actual father.

Re: Incursion #4 Discussion
I'm starting to catch up with my Valiant reading, may wind up necroing a thread or two, sorry.
I thought this was a pretty solid arc. They could have brought in another character like Shadowman and stretched it to six issues, but it was fine as is. In fact, Virago's a big enough threat they could have even gone bigger. But all in all, it was handled well in four.
And I like to see some history building with the Fist and Steel and his Geomancer. Valiant's been missing that.
