What sets do you have in the Registry? Do you have any certificates for best sets?

Conan Rocks collects most of the early Dark Horse run. I've got the best in class cert for that set.

I get a stack of CGC certs for best sets every year but my claims to best Valiant sets keep shrinking...

I just received my registry awards. 20 sets this year. I can't remember what I had last year, but I think it was more. :?

I currently have the top ranked Registry sets for:

Divinity (2015)
Savage (2016)
Harbinger (1992)

I intend to complete full 9.8 sets for:

Harbinger (2012)
Harbinger Omegas
Imperium
Life and Death of Toyo Harada
Archer & Armstrong (1992)
Armor Hunters

Do you find VEI books to be tough in 9.8, DBS?

It depend. Some of the mega “keys” appear to have been identified and hoarded early by folks like us, and as a result, it certainly is possible to find them.

However, the problem begins with books that were identified later as being “important” or “in demand” and as a result, appear seldom for sale or in top condition. An good example of this is Unity #5 (Suayan 1:100 B&W).

For me, I tend to buy at least 5 raw copies of each book/variant I am hunting for to increase my odds of scoring a 9.8 candidate.

Not so much an issue with $3.99 or $10 books; however, after that it really adds up quickly lol!

Most books directly off the press are NOT 9.8.

Most 9.8 books on the shelf are NOT 9.8 for long.

I DO have some success with Midtown, TFAW, and Impulse Creations providing clean, shape books. :thumb:
