Aren't these pretty close to VH2 Armorines numbers? I might just start stacking away a few extra copies.

Ouch. And to think they have 4-5 covers per book too. This is brutal. At this point I think the survivability of the comics really has to be questioned. I highly doubt they are covering their costs.

X-O did sell 23,249 so maybe things will turn around (for that series) if new readers like it and decide to stick with it.
Manga, comics, who cares? They're pretty much the same thing.

Armorines #4 was re-solicited like three times and once printed was 2,700 copies so really close

Re: VALIANT MARCH 2020 COMIC BOOK SALES!!
Sales history has clearly shown us that stores order 20-30k of the Tier 1 character #1s and then #2 sales drop to the 10k or lower mark.armlessphelan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 9:20:02 pm X-O did sell 23,249 so maybe things will turn around (for that series) if new readers like it and decide to stick with it.
With everything being a series of mini series or constantly rebooted, it seems really odd that there are still first issue collectors out there, but there must be.

Along with the hiatus it's certainly going to be less than 10k. Everything else would be a huge surprise.SwiftMann wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 10:29:59 amSales history has clearly shown us that stores order 20-30k of the Tier 1 character #1s and then #2 sales drop to the 10k or lower mark.armlessphelan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 9:20:02 pm X-O did sell 23,249 so maybe things will turn around (for that series) if new readers like it and decide to stick with it.

They better get rid of the creative team and relaunch the title.
But, I guess, it can't be worse than Bloodshot Rising Spirit:

#2 - 6,963

Just want to say thankyou for doing this monthly report on numbers.
I find it very interesting.

I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Back in the day we'd be talking about low print runs and future availability/etc. But back then we knew there'd be a future audience who cared. Nowadays? Not so confident...

Even if a few new readers stick with it, how many existing readers will drop it as it’s so far away from what XO should be?armlessphelan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 9:20:02 pm X-O did sell 23,249 so maybe things will turn around (for that series) if new readers like it and decide to stick with it.

At this point what can be done to turn around the situation? Great books like LADOTH and decent books like Rai get the same sales (or even less) than garbage books like Bloodshot, the Valiant brand seems in free fall.
From a business perspective how long can it go on for with sales this low? They need another Dinesh type visionary to take the company forward, but it don’t lightening will strike twice.

Re: VALIANT MARCH 2020 COMIC BOOK SALES!!
I would say they need to wrap up every series this summer, except for Rai, and relaunch with one book, like VEI did in 2012 (with more to follow). It needs to be of the highest quality, to the point that Valiant fans, and general comic fans turn their heads. Then they have to maintain that quality across ~6 books. They can just let Rai and Abnett keep doing what they're doing, and maybe even spin off into it's own pocket-universe, or launch an event like 4001 A.D. It's literally their only well received book, so they can't cancel it, no matter how bad the sales are.Dallow Spicer1 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 3:48:06 pm At this point what can be done to turn around the situation? Re: VALIANT MARCH 2020 COMIC BOOK SALES!!
Thing is, the Valiant sales aren't great, but nobody is doing well. Dark Horse books are selling Valiant numbers. Dynamite books are doing a little better, but it depends on the licence. The Image bubble burst and most of their books are doing around what Valiant is putting out. Hell, a huge portion of DC books sell under 20k a month and that's one of the big two publishers! It's a crashing comic market and nobody is really wanting to admit that.
Manga, comics, who cares? They're pretty much the same thing.
