Rai #10 (2020)
Not only is this the only book right now that feels like it's set in the Valiant Universe, this book is the Valiant Universe. Unfortunately, volume one ends on a cliffhanger with an indefinite "Rai will return" next issue blurb. There hasn't been a book from any publisher in a while that had me this upset about waiting for the next chapter. An epic battle between Bloodfather and Darque is coming and the characters may not align where you think.

This has been an absolutely fantastic story thus far. Kudos to Dan Abnett and JJ Ryp (despite not finishing this one)!
I cannot wait for the next issue and my fingers are crossed JJ Ryp will return as well.

Two thousand years in the future... theories?
Time travel (through "otherside" realms)?
Same "consciousness"?
... maybe it's HER.

Re: Rai #10 (2020)
I read this issue with a sense of dread, fearing that it would be the last issue of the run and there would be a fast, sloppy tying-up of loose ends. I actually found myself getting angry that they wasted so many pages on the fight scene between Fusion and Rai. But considering that they didn't wrap things up, and that this is ostensibly just a pause in the story, I thought it was another fantastic issue in what has become one of my favorite series not just in current Valiant, but in all of Valiant publishing since 2012. I legitimately have enjoyed this run more than Kindt's run, which I also enjoyed but found a little cold for my taste.

Re: Rai #10 (2020)
i read this book, i cant tell you how much it reminds me of a VH3 book.. the way they put a sloppy end vol 1, on the last page..
this is the same guy who wrote shadowman VH3 right?
weird... so weird, how history repeats itself, if you look at the vei and how situations remanifested, and at the end of VMG, it feels exactly like it did 20 years ago... so effin weird

Great issue from Abnett and (mostly Ryp).
**Crazy theory** Dinesh has infiltrated DMG and he’s taken control of this series!
This is the only current book which ‘feels’ like continuity has remained in place and I think Abnett has done a tremendous job in building upon what came before and it’s obvious that he has a great knowledge of Valiant continuity (unlike Hallum on XO). I didn’t see either plot twist coming; Ray taking over Alice’s body or the return of Darque.
Only gripe was the jarring fill in art.
I think Valiant should jump on this series and get the next issues out ASAP (either re-start the numbering or issue 11), this in the only thing they’ve released since LADOTH where the fans have given positive reviews consistently.
4.5/5 A series worth buying and having in your collection
