Jeez. Not even a re-solicited date for future release? I’d be curious to know what kind of preorder numbers they got for it… clearly it wasn’t enough to commit to publishing it.

I'm pretty sure the creator payment ponzi scheme finally ran out of money. Taking the Kickstarter money to fund a bunch of 2022 releases. Using the first half of 2022 releases to pay (or not pay as being claimed) low page rates to unknown creators. But those series do nothing. Running out of money to pay Bunn for Book of Shadows so releasing the completed Bloodshot Unleashed to try and get enough funds for Shadows #3 & 4. No chance there was anything left to pay known creators like Cloonan & Sharp.

Valiant just posted on Facebook saying that XO is still coming out in March.
Fingers crossed.
I wonder if it will get a full story arc published.

On the heels of Aftershock recently announcing ch.11 bankruptcy, I can’t help but wonder if this is inevitable for VEI as well… certainly seems to be slowly heading that way.

Sounds like they didn't get enough pre orders to justify a release so have put it off again and again.

I'm not at Valiant anymore, but I don't need to be to say that's very likely incorrect. One glance at the publishing plan shows they're currently operating with one single issue release a month, so X-O was pushed back to wrap up Book of Shadows before launching X-O. They may even view March as a stronger month for the launch, but that's just speculation on my part. And if I recall correctly, it was slated for November, then pushed with this new approach to publishing. So, it was moved once. Maybe my memory is off there, but I think that's how it played out. Either way, it would not be moved because preorders came in lower than anticipated. Just wanted to help clear that up.
