Is this a comedy? I'm at a loss trying to figure out what's going on in that first cover. Deathmate is probably something that's best forgotten

From what I've read about it, it's a commentary on early Image comics. But I cannot tell if it makes a mockery of it or treats it with respect.

Interesting, yeah it seems like doing the whole 90's comics parody thing with all the Liefeld pouches has been the 'cool' thing to do for a while now.

Seemed like the most appropriate thread to post it in at the time to me.

Cool. I wasn't aware of it.

You should post the one for the second cover too.

Here's an interview with Seeley and Fleecs.....

https://www.cbr.com/tim-seeley-tony-fle ... interview/

Seems like this isn't just a one-shot but an ongoing series.

Hey all,

I saw this book at my LCS last week and bought issues 1-5 of Local Man plus this one-shot on the homage cover alone, lol.

To comment on the contents of the books, they are a loving homage on 90’s Image; almost adding in lost continuity to what the initial Image shared-universe was attempted to have been. It’s def its own thing, while also being a commentary. I love it so far…but I am a huge 90’s Image fan and “middle-aged” so I’m the perfect demographic, lol!
The "Unity Suite" ... in progress ...

In some ways, it sound as if Local Man does for '90s Image what Alan Moore's 1963 and Supreme respectively did for Marvel's and DC's Silver Age.

It was a matter of time until such a comic book came out.

I agree. Arise, chickens, indeed. More like resurrect.
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?
