Any predictions on this? Reserve is met at $750; I say it goes for $2,000.

I had questions last time they sold art for Lapham but confirmed the artwork for sale with David Lapham. I won a Plasm cover and recieved it just fine. According to Mr Lapham he still has all of the pages to Harbinger 1 and may be selling them later. From my understanding he doesn't wish to split up the issue so it will probably goto a dealer.

If he doesn't want the issue split up, he should sell it to someone who will keep it together, like me! A dealer would almost certainly split it up, no?x-omatic wrote:I had questions last time they sold art for Lapham but confirmed the artwork for sale with David Lapham. Of course, getting me to write the high 4-figure check to buy the pages could be an issue...

It may be bad timing for a piece of this magnitude to hit eBay. I know of many people who are financially trapped out due to Christmas.
If -I- were selling this piece, I'd have waited for mid-February at the earliest. Better yet, April so as to take advantage of tax returns.
Maybe the guy needs the money.

Damn would you look at that!
So that is pencils with ink. I have to reread the posts we've had on the good ole Valiant production process. some one should have a class on that.
That should definitely go over 2 G's.

And such an important book, too. By far, the single most valuable and desired Valiant book from 1992-1995, 96, maybe 97?willyt wrote:So that is pencils with ink. I have to reread the posts we've had on the good ole Valiant production process. some one should have a class on that.

it is
I hope, someone that has been on the boards a long time gets it, me included. but i need to borrow some cash anyone?
like you zeypher, or ckb, magnusaur, and many others i have dealt with, including of course Greg!
I personally didnt think anybody would let something like this cover art or: rai 1-5, or some of the early magnus 1-7 & 12 and solar 1-10, and early harbies, go. I dont think I could. maybe $10,000 ballpark. Does anyone else feel the same?

Re: Damn would you look at that!
That's a matter of opinion. Not everyone thinks Harbinger was the 'be all/end all' of Valiant. As far as highly collectible covers go, Harbinger #0 is nice, but I'd prefer a BWS Solar cover or a Frank Miller Unity. Nothing against Lapham, just my own personal preference.----SteveZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:And such an important book, too. Re: it is
The cover for #4 just went for $1400, so I'm thinking not. This is a nicer cover, but $10k is way high for this piece. I'd buy the complete Quesada X-O #0 book at $16K before I bought this cover for $10K.willyt wrote: maybe $10,000 ballpark. Does anyone else feel the same?
It is a nice cover, but really #4 just finished going for less than $1500 ( ). I think that it will fetch a hefty price, but for $10,000 you could buy some SERIOUS art. You could put in a realistic bid on that X-O #0 that Dan is soliciting, you could buy a Jim Lee Batman cover, you could buy 5 BWS covers to X-O #2, etc., etc. As VK said, there are just better covers out there, even nicer Valiant covers.
A nice price, yes. Some ridiculous price? No.
Just my $0.02
