Here is an synopsis of the first part....

PART ONE • HALF EMPTY • July, 1997

Chapter 1: INTRO Joshua Fireseed and Barry Hackowitcz, status quo, etc. Joshua is distracted, feeling that his time as Turok has caused him to lose focus of his own life -- everything is in service to the "cause." He's getting tired of it. He doesn't want to die like every Turok before him did -- alone, in battle, without having had a real life.
Meanwhile we establish an archaeological dig in Arizona. Solidarity Order member and dinosoid Stegosaurus, Feylahd and Jay Fireseed (Joshua's mother) are at the site, along with the human paleontologists, Harry and Janet Enjiins. Background on S.O. and Jay. Show that they have uncovered the bones of an Allosaur with clean bullet holes through the pelvis bones -- but they are searching for something even greater!

Chapter 2: Joshua is torn when he is called in by the Solidarity Order. This matter is not his concern. So what if a dinosaur died millions of years ago at the hands of a time-traveler? Big deal. He has too much to do on his own without spelunking through time. Josh bags out of helping them.
Meanwhile, the Amaranthine Accordance is plotting, wondering how this discovery might affect their perception of what is and isn't. The actions of the Forsaken One have come back to haunt the child. How will he react?
Barry talks to Josh, trying to at least get him to call a Gathering -- a meeting of past Turoks on the spiritual level. Joshua reluctantly agrees.
In council, Josh learns of the battle between a legendary Turok known as the Backwalker and the dinosoid known only as Tethersin. The timelines are all screwed up, though. Backwalker was the Son of Stone over eight hundred years ago, but Tethersin was the leader of the Amaranthine Accordance between 1950 and 1975! Josh realizes that somehow, the Backwalker, a fabled Turok from the year 1200 A.D. got his hands on an Uzi sub-machinegun and used it during the Jurassic Period!!

Chapter 3: At the dig site, the Solidarity Order is set upon by a group of Endtrails, the dinosoid Assassins of the Amaranthine Accordance. Jay is kidnapped, Harry is killed, but Fey and Janet survive. The Endtrails escape with the fossil remains of the mysterious Allosaurus.
Joshua goes home to talk with Martin Sunhope, the elder council of his people. He needs advice. The two discuss what it means to be Turok -- and more importantly, what it means to Joshua.
That's when they get word that his mother has been taken hostage!
At the Amaranthine Accordance. Ancient mystical incantations are performed on the fossils in order to "breathe life" back to the dead -- to see how they died. The spell reveals that the Allosaur was a native of its time frame, killed by the Turok known as The Backwalker. But the mystical reference also shows that another human was with him -- and they were in pursuit of a dinosoid!
Establish here that the person leading this entire operation is the daughter of Tethersin, the younger sister of greenish -- she is called GreenSin.

Chapter 4: The funeral of Harry. He died for what? Protecting some ancient mystery? Trying to piece together the fractured alliance between man and dinosoid? What a waste! Family issues are discussed, unresolved problems between the siblings regarding both their father (who disappeared) and their mother's disappearance abound. What is Joshua going to do?
The Amaranthine Accordance begins to act. They need to learn the truth about the loss, years ago, of their leader, Tethersin. And more importantly -- what if he never died during the fight with Backwalker and the Forsaken One? What if they might find a way to bring him back -- alive -- because he is STILL alive in the past?! The only way to do that is through Galyanna, the Lost Land.
And the only way to get there is by capturing Turok... and the only way to do that is to use his mother to lure him into a trap...
At the tribal village, Joshua begins to dig for answers, from Sunhope, from his sister, Viv and her husband Henry and from village leader, Henry's father, Clay. And Josh begins drawing an uncomfortable conclusion -- could HE himself turn out to be responsible for the Bleeding Fossils?

Chapter 5: At college, Joshua and Barry prepare to leave for Wyoming in order to investigate the archaeological site. They need to know more about the past -- ancient and recent -- in order to understand what to do next.
At the airport, they are stalked. Joshua defeats a single Endtrail and both guys realize that the Accordance has gotten involved. What stake do they have in this matter?
At the site, Josh is sympathetic to Janet for her loss, but he is bottling all his anger about his mother and his ambivalence inside. He just wants to get down to business.
Using the Light Burden, his mystical bag, Joshua recreates the recent Endtrail attack. He then allows the lifeline of the land to play itself back, showing millions of years of life and death played out over this one small area of land. He moves as he "sees" this scrolling timeline -- away from the site -- walking. The others follow, Fey and Janet share a concerned glance.
Joshua stops. "Here," he says pointing at the barren ground 1/4 mile away from the site. "This is what they really should have been after."
"You -- know?" asks Fey, surprised.
We pull back a tarmac which had been covered up by an artificial environment and we discover the skeletal remains of a six foot, human male -- missing his right arm, with a fossilized Uzi gun at his side!

Chapter 6 Second Sin conducts an interrogation of Jay. The dinosoids are called cold-blooded for a reason. The questioning is psychological torture as well as physical. Piece by piece, layer of skin by layer of soul, we dig deeper into Jay's psyche. What we learn about her is not necessarily a nice thing...
At the site, Joshua is convinced that the remains are his own -- his own future was hinted at, that he would lose an arm in battle -- and here he is, dead, years from now, but centuries later.
Fey and Janet explain to Josh that whoever this person is, the fracture was caused at the time of his death. How do they know that? Josh asks.
Fey walks up the cliff face, and reveals another concealed dig. It is the remains of the human's right arm.
If not Joshua, then who? The Backwalker?
Jay's interrogation continues. We learn more about her marriage, about John Fireseed's problems, his inability to be Turok. What happened which caused him to fail so miserably? And why did he turn his back on the responsibility? Why did he become known as The Forsaken One? Jay's eyes reveal so much pain -- inside and out. Why did John Fireseed vanish into Galyanna, never to be seen again? Because he had no choice -- because he had to track down Tethersin through time -- to gain some measure of revenge for what the dinosoid had done to his son! Joshua? asks the interrogators. No, says Jay... their first born son, Michael!
At the archaeological site, Joshua is inspecting the remains, trying to create a lifeline for the battle which occurred there. And he sees who the remains belong to. He sees and finally begins to understand. "It's my father..."
