Question about the cgc boards

I have never had a book graded, but I noticed that on the cgc boards people will give their opinions on the grades. Has anyone here done that and if so were the posters opinions close to what you recieved when you sent the books to cgc? I have absolutely no expierience grading comics. I could maybe do it with just fine near mint etc, but would be totally lost trying to use a decimal point system.
