Shadowman #2 variant volume 3

Post by dewmaster5708 »

I have a nm copy of Shadowman #2 volume 3. Probably one of the top 75 copies that exist in this 750 print run. No PM's, just post here. I am curious about the interest in this. Need to clear space. Post offers here.

Just sold my Magnus #0 to Aug00 under my Ebay id Duckdodger245. My grading is quite accurate if you want to view my Ebay Feedback. U can email at porthos2814@hotmail.com too

Wow, I'm amazed at the demand of this issue. I guess the supply of 750 has something to do to it. :D

I really don't want to sell this, since I am now the only wage earner in my household. If things get tight around X-mas, I may sell it.

Trying to get a sense of the book's value. One actually sold for $400??? Had no idea what the book was when I bought it. Was only buying everything with word Acclaim at the time. Thought it was a run of mill Shadowman Acclaim variant. I don't expect $400

Thanx for the offers guys. I still want to hold on to it, even though I am more of a Magnus collector. To complete a full Volume 3 shadowman set, I would need a cover price version #1.

I don't remember hearing about this. Is this one of the rarest books to be printed?

Adding some fuel to the fire, I suppose...

The Shadowman Volume 3 books were very low sellers anyway,
like most of the 1999 titles...
The 1999 variant issues (with cover prices) were supposedly printed
at a rate of 5-to-1 compared to the 'regular covers', according to Mike Marts.
(The 1997 variants were issued at a 2-to-1 ratio.)

Essentially, the 5-to-1 ratio is taken literally, so when you look at the
pre-orders for Shadowman Vol 3 #2, you see a number like 4,784 copies.
So, that's roughly 4,000 regular version and 750 variants.

It's possible that there are more than 750...
but so far there hasn't been any evidence
presented in order to raise that print run estimate.
