No Shooter yet, eh?

Will VE have its own panel?

How about both Layton AND Shooter at the same panel? It be like an old west showdown, no?

Stupid question

Does the San Diego trolley travel in two separate ways or only one way? Are there two that go in opposite directions or just the one?

Depending on what line you are on, There are tracks for north/south or east/west.

This is a map of where in S.D. it runs. I have a car so I've never needed to take the trolley. It can't be that hard to get to the convention center, especially on that weekend. Just follow the Klingons

There aren't enough Klingons at the SDCC to rely on that.

I wanted to pick a fight with Klingons... in Klingon. Damn posers; if you are going to wear the crest, speak the language.

I am gonna admit to something that I have never told anyone. This would actually get me stripped of my Lucas fanboy title. I bought the conversational klingon tape whenever I was in high school. I never was able to understand it enough to actually speak it or understand it. Heck, I had a hard enough time learning spanish in high school.

I bought the Klingon dictionary but couldn't make it pass page 5 or something.

Ironically the word that stopped me was Tijuana... I couldn't understand the instruction of how a letter in Klingon sounds (according to the dictionary it was like the J in Tijuana, but I couldn't figure out of they meant the J as spoken by someone who speaks English or as someone who speaks Spanish).

Heh

Well, I'm staying at the Sheraton, which is like 10 minutes from the Convention Center.

I need the trolley to go to the malls and stores and stuff.

It goes both ways, and you should have an easy time finding other attendees, they were everywhere last year. We took the coaster from the outlying area into the city and hit the trolley. Just get to the station early, take your time and read the maps that are at the station, and you'll do fine!

Thanks.

I was checking their site and noticed they have four-day boarding passes for 15 dollars. Might be worth it.

Only problem is, how crowded does it get? Is it safe to carry shopping bags from the mall in the trolley?

I was initially apprehensive about the whole trolley system, fearing something like the NY Subways you always see in comics.

Actually, it wasn't bad at all. We learned the first day to leave the con about 30 minutes to an hour before the show closes their doors and it wasn't too crowded. Thursday and Friday we had to contend with commuters in the morning, but we were so late leaving in the evenings that they were already gone.

I would say it's safe to carry most anything on the trolley. Like I said before there were lots of con attendees on board, so it's like a bus load of geeks who all know that whatever the other guy has is delicate and priceless to him.

Lol.

I've only used the subway here in Mexico City and I wouldn't carry shopping bags in it, heh.

That reminds me. Do you know anything about the con's shuttle? The hotel I'm staying at is 10 minutes from the convention center but it's not in the trolley's route so odds are I may end up needing the shuttle. Do you know where I can find out its schedule?

I'm not going to the Con... :( But I was stationed on the west coast for 5 years and spent many months in San Diego. The Trolley system is easy to use, comfortable and will get you to just about anything important in San Diego.

I hate public transportation, but SD has a pretty good one compared to many of the others!

Just my $0.02

I would suppose that each hotel would have it's own shuttle to the convention center. I'd call the Sheraton and ask them.

the Con's website says they'll have their own, but haven't posted this years' route and schedule yet.

Your name is noted and will be sent directly to Lucas Fanboy Traitor Central . . .

What he said. Plus, last year, the SDCC didn't get a lot of info out until the last couple of weeks prior to the show. It will turn up! I was as anxious last year as you are this year!

At the 94 or 95 con there was a guy with a ton of Armorines artwork sitting alone in a table. I don't know if it was Calaforie or the inker (I don't even remember if it was inks or pencils). I saw it was VALIANT art and flipped through it to check it out. Looked really cool.

So if anyone has it, know I touched it, heh.
