X-O vs Doctor Doom by Layton!!!

Post by k_c_collectibles »

This is a KILLER version of X-O manowar vs Doctor Doom by Bob Layton. It is in the art commissions section of his site this month:

Image

Here is the wording that went with it:

X-O Manowar/Iron Man #150 Variant Recreation

This is another commission I did for Douglas Oberg. This time, he had me covert this classic Iron Man cover by JRJR and me to my other favorite armored character-Aric of Dacia.

Enjoy!
Chris

Off topic: Are you ready for me to ship your book yet? Although if you totally forgot about it, I wouldn't complain  :thumb:

Back on topic, that is a sweet, sweet commission. It makes me want to tear open the cover and read the story........

One of the things I like about Layton's art is that he never forgets the details like making sure that a metallic surface looks metallic.

That's always been his forte. He's one of the best inkers at making metallic stuff really pop.

So the price of something like this would cost $400... thats neat to know.. with up to 5 characters!! Hmm, Ill need to start thinking about which 5 Id like to see :thumb:

Im sure a more detailed background would raise the price considerably...

I think it's "based" on Fantastic Four #112...
the face-off and arm positions are similar (maybe reversed). :thumb:
