Very cool, they're getting harder and harder to find unless you want to pay $40+ for one.

I am probably not the only one who can say this - I've got 1 and 2 but need 3 myself. Killer find man, wish I had that kind of luck.

In my search, #1 is the easiest
#2 is so-so
#3 is pretty hard
#1 variant - I think they require a down payment of at least one arm and a testicle...

Seriously, I have become obsessed with comics since I started again a couple weeks ago. I ahve been driving 500+ miles to distant comic sotres, warehouse sales, and riding my bike throughout town looking for gems.

I know what you're saying - why not just buy on eBay???

To this I say - "Hmmph.....excitement....adeventure....A Jedi craves not these things." In other words...it's ALL bout the hunt. eBay takes the fun out of it (unless you find a mislisted item for 99 cents or something - which I admit I am guilty of searching for too)

With gas prices the way they are I know I'm not making many special trips just to go hunting long distance for books that's for sure.

I haven't got them yet... :D But I think conversion from the US to Mexico is a little in my favor and it ends up costing me something like some underarm hair and some toe-nail clippings!

That's hardcore! :thumb: 500 miles for distant comic shops?!?! I would drive 500 miles if it was the mother of all conventions, like Comic-con. Has the drive been worth the trip? Did you find anything?
Comic-con is 500 miles from me; by the way, but I have prior plans this year. I would have drove there though just for the Valiant panel alone. 40 miles would probably be my limit as far as traveling to a lcs (or should I say dcs???), unless it was some Superstore with a cute worker or had a killer "buy one get 10 free sale and free cookies and ice cream".

good point but I always find a way to kill 8 birds....I cleaned out my old college locker, picked up 150 back issues for less than $50, spent $50 on gas, and visited my fiancee and family. But I do admit, I have an itch to drive up 60 miles tomorrow to check out a guy thats selling his whole Valiant Collectiion (600 books) for 40 cents a pop (even the VSS)
