I am pretty sure that's the 14" Galactus from the Fantastic Four line of toys that corresponded to the Marvel Action Hour cartoon show from around 1995. He's got an accompanying drill.

That also looks like the Thanos from either the same line or the corresponding Iron Man line. The Silver Surfer figure is much more awesome and is one of three action figures (soon to be four) that sits on top of my DVD player.

From the same line!

I did have the Galactus set up on the bookshelf surrounded by the tiny li'l Captain America, Spiderman, Magneto, Wolverine Marvel Battle Dice figures.

Well done sketches with great frames. An AR sketch huh ? How much did that put you back ?

And that bookcase would be GREAT stocked with busts and or statues. :hm:

The Alex Ross sketch was 100% free.

I got it at Heroes Convention '96 in Charlotte, NC when he and Mark Waid were promoting Kingdom Come. It was my first convention I'd ever attended and I wasn't quite familiar with convention etiquette then, so I'd just approach people and be nice and talk to them about their work and politely ask for a sketch.

They always said yes, so I figured it was the norm for artists to do free sketches. Not so anymore I'm afraid.

Sadly I used to have a lot more sketches than this. About 7-8 years back I had a good many sketches ripped off from my apartment, more than likely by someone I called friend..to this day I have no idea who it could have been.

I had a Bob Burden Flaming Carrot, a Mike Wieringo Batman, John Romita Spider-eyes, and about 5 pages of Steve Lieber Hawkmen. That last one was really cool. I asked for a sketch and he asked me to leave my sketchbook and come back and get it. He was drawing Hawkman at the time and I guess he used my sketchbook for practice, because when I got back he had filled 5 pages with Hawkman drawings in every possible position. There was at least 6-7 figures on each page!

Sadly all gone...but at least they didn't get my Ross.

I'll post my Humberto Ramos Flash as soon as I get some more batteries for the camera. :P

Actually, now that I think about it, that's wrong. It was from the 1998 Silver Surfer Alien Fighters line and it came with a little Silver Surfer in a water-filled orb.

Wierd, huh? :)

I can't take a picture of my old Gibson ES-125 that my grandfather passed down to me. It's in Texas getting new electronics put in by my brother-in-law who. He works at Collings building mandolins and guitars and is allegedly building me a Selmer Maccaferri copy.

Image

Here's my acoustics, though. The first is my Sigma 12 String that I rarely play, second is my Alvarez Artist series that I use a lot playing gigs, and last but not least is my favorite guitar, my Yamaha FG-180 (the one with the red sticker and the neck made by Martin). That one was my dad's first guitar and, in turn, my first guitar.

Sadly, I was not able to attend SDCC this year. Every year, I go... I wander artist alley AND the artist's booths in search of free sketches that are auctioned off for CF. (I wished SOMEONE could have picked up THAT torch this year). I walk away with $35 or MORE sketches every year and notibly on that list is at least TWO from Neal Adams that yearly go for $300+ EVERY time. That earns quite a bit for CF and the artist just jump on the bandwagon every year as well.... it DOES help when I get there on premiere night, talk to Neal Adams and then he goes around to all the artists telling them to support this and I just chuckle when I pick up a sketch and I get that "Please tell, Neal Adams that I did as he told me to do". It's great to have that kind of backing AND to see that kind of respect shown to Neal.

But the sketches that I have auctioned off... I sleep with most of the sketches under my pillow the night before I mail them out, and cry just a bit on mailing day. (sniff)

That's awesome, as Adams won't do anything for less than $300. I thought you were going to be there or I would have at least asked him for you.
