Wow did Greg get banned!!! Holy crud - why not just remove the post. Matt has to know who the Valiantman is.

Hey, someone answer the joker who says he couldn't get through reading the Harbinger TPB because it was SO BAD. It's ludicrous. He is clearly a shill for VIP.

Valiantman knows who Matt listens to... can anyone guess who is Newsarama's legal counsel?

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Where there's an article about Valiant properties that spends more time letting
a lawyer with zero copyrights complain about supposedly "mean fans",
there's an article writer who doesn't care about Valiant copyrights and fans.

from xomanowarfan:
I agree as well.

Newsarama is pro VIP (probably because of their previous relationship to Lovitz. And credit where it is due, to newsarama for making it clear they did have a relationship). Valiantman was anti VIP. He was silenced.

The Newsarama sequence of events:

http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=127072
______________________

Kevin T. Brown: "Well, ANYONE could have legally trademarked those names once Valiant allowed the TM to lapse.... It's on Valiant as much as those you despise."

DBHughes: "Personally, I view this attitude as though one said, "If you didn't want your house robbed, you should have put a lock on the door" or "If you didn't want to be raped, you should have worn less promiscuous clothing. Such cold "business" logic can be applied all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that VIP is a collective bunch of slime with a despicable agenda."

Kevin T. Brown: "The lock on the door makes sense; the rape analogy... not so much. Especially since there's no correlation between a woman getting raped and the clothes she wears. (And let's not go down that road.....)"

DBHughes: "It's the same; you're just not comfortable with the example because it's stark. Many, many people wrongly argue that women who dress "sexy" are asking for it just as people who don't put a lock on their door are asking for it. And as those horrible people bask in the glow of being "correct", the simple fact is that something despicable happened no matter how it is sliced. So dropped the ball? Yeah; I would buy it if VEI had lost just one name or maybe two. VIP registered ALL OF THE NAMES THEY COULD. It's an obvious shake down - extortion. VIP knows they don't own the characters; they're just holding the trademarks over VEI's head."

MattBrady: "Guys - no matter what anyone says here, this discussion is not about rape, and it's amazingly, stunningly insensitive and boorish to make that comparison. Let's stop it before the thread veers into that direction. Given the topic, there's going to be enough passion, allegations and, apparently, name-calling to go around."

Valiantman: "Matt is 100% correct. VIP has repeatedly stated that they believe the trademarks were dead. VIP isn't raping anyone. It's necrophilia. :D "

MattBrady: "I said stop, for the sake of being kewl, you didn't. You're gone."

Incredible that you got banned. It has been quite obvious that Newsarama is not taking a neutral approach to reporting the events concerning Valiant properties. So much for being a source for "news". Maybe their site should be retitled as Propagandarama.

Pretty good company at the top of that list. Watchmen is such a classic story. I have no problem with Harbinger being below it. If it could reach #2, I would be in heaven.

StarBrand,
I was more mad for everyone else here who had order more than one copy and they weren't going to able to get them than mad that I wouldn't get one for myself, and although I still want the book but as long Knight gets the money for CF Foundation then I'm happy.[/quote]

I sent the money to Knightt for his CF Foundation within 24 hours of the auction closing, bro.
I was just posting that so you know I've made arrangements to lock one in for you.
