Daredevil Statue & Bust comparison thread

Post by siren3-4 »

It might be less confusing if I make a thread for each character than trying to represent them all in one thread . . .

Also it will be easier for me or others to add to the list !!

So I'll start with these:

DAREDEVIL

Image

From left to right:
Marvel Milestones Daredevil FS, Bowen Red MB, Sideshow Legendary Scale Bust, Bowen Yellow MB

Daredevil Origins statue

Image
I believe this is an upcoming Master Replicas statue . . just found it . .

Marvel Milestones Daredevil Cover #182

Image
Daredevil 40th anniversary statue (7 inches tall)

Image
Hard Hero statue Red

Image
Hard Hero statue Yellow

Image
Attakus Yellow statue

Image
Attakus Red Born Again statue

Bowen original Full Size Red & Yellow (mini versions were also made)

I like that Marvel Milestones FS!

Very cool, but they seem to be very pricey!

They are the old releases and are very pricey now (red more so than the yellow)

They have cooled a little but were up at and around $400.00 for a while . . :thumb:

This one seems kinky. Like she's making him watch her pick her nose or something....

I really like this series, the B&W version of the heroes have been basic but well done. My only reservation is that the "origin" part could use more/better detail. The concept is great, the execution is okay.

They are very reasonable "price wise" also . .

About $40 new on ebay . . sometimes you can sneak some as low as $25 . .

I think they are 8-10 inches tall which is really pretty good . .

These are nice, I like the Yellow version better as it seems to bring out the details.

I like everything but the face on this one. It looks.....stretchy? somethings not quite right. I love the pose, the cross, the base, the paint job, but the face kinda puts me off.

Yeah, the price on these has made me very forgiving on the quality of the "origins" portions.

I saw a few fan pics of the statue, I think from sdcc, and it looks even better than the production and promotional pics . . . The rooftop base is actually pretty nice . . .

I like it . . . but I think I may still go after that rooftop cross Milestones first . . . :)

There's always Bowen. I didn't comment on those as they're always awesome.

I agree. It is the chin. It looks cartoony. Like something Ed McGuiness would draw. I think it is a copy of Joe Q. drawing, but I don't remember it looking so distorted.

The only one I saw on eBay listed for $400?!?! :o

Is that normal? I was guessing $150-200.

Bowen Red Full Size is now averaging a little over $200 (but was going for $400.00 on a regular basis a few months - a year ago.

The milestones used to go for about $150 . .then they all dried up and it became a hot piece as more people found it and liked the "presence" of the piece . . . It has gone as high as $350 but has cooled and should be able to be gotten for $175 - $225

Is it just me or do DD's hands look huge? I love the statue, it just seems a little disproportionate.

I never really knew these busts/statues had such an appeal as a collectible nor such a wide subject variety.

Do you guys collect them all...becasue of the artform/company that produces them...or just that it captures the eye??
