You are SO right, DJ. Case in point (no pun intended), I have two cases of 250 each of the newly arrived New Avengers Military Appreciation Comic that can only be obtained in Military Post Exchanges stateside and overseas.... and yup, here I sit on 500 copies. A bit hard to unload. I have not tried Ebay but I think I missed my timeframe. The frenzy is at when they first come out. A really nice Captain America cover but still hard to move, but then again when they first came out I sold a lot of 30 to a guy in England for $250 and then he wanted more. I thought I had hit a gold mine, now it's running dry.
I doubt something like this will happen with all those Plasm 0s. If he decides to do individual books on Ebay, he will have a few folks who will pay more than a buck a book but I do not think that he will EVER get his money back. If I had not bid $300, he would have gotten them CHEAP and THEN getting his money back and then some would have been a cinch.
Still, it burns my *SQUEE* that I didnt win it.

If you hadn't been in on the bidding, and posted that you were bidding high, I was going to bid $115, so he would have at least paid that.Knightt wrote: I doubt something like this will happen with all those Plasm 0s. Even though you didn't win, I'm glad you bid that high. I wonder what he thought when he won it for $305? I bet even HE wasn't expecting it to go that high. But then of course, why would he have bid that much? I'm sure he bid at least $350, if not slightly more.
I'm pretty upset you didn't win too. $300 should have been enough.
It will be interesting to see how he attempts to sell them. Hopefully he doesn't plan on sitting on them too long.

Does this seem weird to anyone else?
The winner of this auction has a positive feedback from June 2004, another one in Sept. 2005 and another one in June 2007. Then he won this.
He's bought 4 items in the past 3 .5 years, including this one.
Now sometimes you buy stuff and don't get a feedback. But you look at the feedback he's left and they match up.
So he just casually checks out ebay for the first time in 6 months and, with 21 seconds left, bids $300+ for for this?
If he can afford to drop 300 bones on this, why isn't he buying more often?
I'm guessing he is. With his main account. I bet this is a older account that he rarely uses.
But why would he do that? Maybe because he doesn't want us to see his primary ebay account? Because we would recognize it?
He's a witch!

Not me. I didn't even see the auction. Wouldn't have bid anyway since they would take up a lot of space and it sounds like they're just the glued spine versions, which are near worthless IMO. Yes, I suppose they could have made a decent fan project.

Not back, never left. I really just don't post unless something grabs me. I am glad that the boards are still thriving.Daniel Jackson wrote:Welcome back, stranger.Technique wrote:Ouch! Not niceKnightt wrote:Well then, my bets on Technique !!!!!

Did anyone ever work out what this comic was.
The description said no staples and they weren't leftover copies that were originally destined for previews so what exactly are they?
I need to know
Im probably wrong but i threw away a half box of these 6 months ago.
I hope they they were #1's i chucked out (recycled).
