Zoom Suit books needed!

Post by k_c_collectibles »

Hey guys,

I am FINALLY getting around to filing out my Zoom Suit collection. Here is what I need:

Issue #1
Gene Colan Armored Legends Edition
Image

Suspended Animation Edition
Image

Issue #2 (I have all editions)

Issue #3
Bart Sears Armored Legends Edition
Image

Suspended Animation Edition
Image

Billy Tucci Metal Sketch Edition (Wizard World)
Image

Issue #4
Cover A (Bob Layton regular edition)
Image

Cover B (Billy Dallas Patton regular edition)
Image

Bob Layton Armored Legends Edition
Image

Suspended Animation Edition
Image

Billy Dallas Parron Metal Sketch Edition
Image

Bob Layton Metal Sketch Edition
Image

I have the following items for trade:

Issue #1

Team Zoom Edition
Image

Bob Layton Armored Legends
Image

Film Festival Metal Edition
Image

Issue #2

Suspended Animation Edition (5 copies)
Image

Zoom Suit Validated Signature Series (set #10 of 40). I purchased 2 sets from Trent back when he offered it to try to help him out as he had sets left over after a few weeks.
ImageImage

I am also willing to purchase the books if the price is right. I want to fill my run of the books out, but it is NOT a priority by any means. It is just on my to do list. :P

Shoot me a PM if you are interested in making a deal of some kind. :)

Lots!

They had everything from prototype runs (the 1st 100 books with no serial #'s) to 1st off the press issues (1st 100 books of all the reg #1 issues) and no telling how many other books. I know there was also some one of a kind issues. I think they put out just one copy of #1 that was a minature size, There was at least 3 different # 1 issues (The Tucci cover, the Layton armored legend cover, and the Starlin armored legend cover) that had just 1 copy in the glow in the dark like all the 2nd issues did. I figure they might have done another copy of the others with the glow tech. also, but I don't know for sure. I do know for the 4 issues put out, there were a HUGE amount of different versions.

I actually enjoyed this series. I just wish there had been less variants and more new stories. I figure since I haven't heard about any new mini series coming out that this property is finished :( but who knows?

I liked the series in the beginning as well, but four books that spawned that many variants was absolutely absurd. By the time the last book finally came out I think everyone was pretty much sick of Zoom Suit.

I have the one that JT sent me along with posters and lots of cards to give away to comic shops. I believe it is the first version. I still have a few posters as well if anyone wants one.

Hummm..
Maybe theres a lesson in there.
Instead of multiple covers for 1 book, have 1 cover for each book. Kinda save those cover ideas for later instead of blowing your wad on 3 books.

Best part of Zoom Suit... the cover art. I love the "imitated art."

I have extra copies of the Gene Colan #1 and Suspended Animation version of #1.

I have mulitples of all the variants of #1, at least one copy of the each of the variants of #2. After that, it tapered off severely, to the point where I only bought one copy of issue #4.

Talk about killing a good thing by going nuts with the variants...

BTW, is there a complete list of all the ZS variants? I might also go back and try to finish these if I can find them dirt cheap.

What ever happened with ZS2???

I know from their website (is that still up and running???) it was to come out this past fall with covers by Sean Chen.

website is still up but looks like it hasn't been updated since ZS #4 came out. I think I'll e-mail them.
