WTB Batman #s 200 - 300
I am trying to complete a run of Batman from #200 to #300. I have about 40 issues so far. I am not going to list them all because I am looking for upgrades to my existing copies as well (some of them are pretty roughed up). Please let me know if you have any of these issues for trade or sale. Thanks!

A couple Detectives too...
I also am looking for Detective Comics #s 369, 397, 402, 404, 407, 408 and 410. I am not a NM Nazi on either the Batmans or Detectives. I just want to make sure they are solid (no pulled staples, detached covers or major tears).

As well, some of the books (#222, 227) are notoriously difficult to find in ANY condition, and sell for absurd multiples of Guide EVEN IN LOW GRADE.
Ouch!

I have most all the keys in the Batman run (200, 227, 232, 234, 237, 238, 251, 255). I wouldn't mind upgrading a couple of those (227 and 238 to be specific), but at least I have them. I have spent all my time on the keys, so now I need to fill in the run. I am especially thin above #250.
On the Detectives I am just starting with the Adams issues for now. Yes, I do have 395 and 400 . Once I get the Batman run done, I will probably try and hit Detective 400 - 500.
Do you have any help for me, Z??

I've been concentrating on Batman for the better part of 17 years, and have most everything from 100-up....including the relatively tough to find #250-#350. Now, what used to be quarter books back in the mid 80's are now $20-$30 or more in NM.wallywest wrote:I have most all the keys in the Batman run (200, 227, 232, 234, 237, 238, 251, 255). Do I have any help? Probably not at this time, but maybe soon.

My first #234, a solid VG, I traded a New Mutants #90 for.....wallywest wrote:Yeah...to get 232 and 234, I gave up a trade of way too much on the value side. Fortunately for me, they were books I didn't care about too much. Getting mid to high grade copies of some of those is a real pain...in the pocketbook.
Wish I had traded ALL my New Mutants....
Oh, yeah, I also traded a New Mutants #90 and #91 for an Amazing Spiderman #17 (solid Good-) and a #40 (solid Good.)
I passed on trading for a #7 because it was so badly spine rolled, half the back cover was on the front cover....
Oops.
If I could turn back time.......

It's looking more and more like I sold out on my Batman #227s about 4-5 years ago, when they first started getting "hot". Sigh.
So, from 100-up, it looks like I'm missing #112, 120 (had a couple, can't find 'em, which means I probably sold 'em), 121 (never owned this one...people pay stupid money for it), and 227.
That's #100-#600.
Wanna see....?

17 years to get #s 100 - 600? That seems really good at the rate I am going .
My problem is technically termed Comic Book ADHD.
Basically, I will pick a title or run or genre or something, go after it pretty good for a while (Valiant Pre-Unity, Brave & Bold 34 - 100 , Batman 200 - 250, Flash 200 - 350, Adventure Comics (Spectre issues in the 400s), Bronze Age All Star Comics, Neal Adams issues, Bronze Age #1s are all on my list somewhere), then get completely distracted by that "new" run or title (or that project aroung the house).
As such, I have almost no complete sets or runs, but nearly complete sets of all the above (and a few more I am forgetting).

I didn't say it took me 17 years to get them....I said I've been concentrating on Batman for the better part of 17 years....big difference. I had all but about the last 30 or so well over 8 years ago.
And this is keeping in mind that I didn't START collecting Batman in earnest until 1990.....longggg after the books had disappeared from the marketplace and were for more expensive than they were, say, in 1985 (when you could buy anything from #150-up for $1-$5.) And I certainly didn't have lots of money up through college (until 1997.)
If you have unlimited resources, a Batman run from #100-#66whatever is still going to take a year or so to assemble, simply because some of the books just do not show up that often for sale, especially in the low 100s.
