Hoard vs. Horde

With all the talk of hordes/hoards lately, we NEED some clarification. At least I do. I know I have confused this.

Horde
–noun
1. a large group, multitude, number, etc.; a mass or crowd: a horde of valiant fans.
2. a tribe or troop of Asian nomads.
3. any nomadic group.
4. a moving pack or swarm of animals: A horde of cheap comic fans swarmed the quarter bins.
–verb (used without object)
5. to gather in a horde: The fans horded together at the Valiant panel.

Hoard
–noun
1. a supply or accumulation that is hidden or carefully guarded for preservation, future use, etc.: a vast hoard of Harbinger #1.
–verb (used with object)
2. to accumulate for preservation, future use, etc., in a hidden or carefully guarded place: to hoard comics in long boxes.
–verb (used without object)
3. to accumulate money, food, or the like, in a hidden or carefully guarded place for preservation, future use, etc.



SO, none of us has a horde of comics. We have a hoard of comics. Together, we members of the board make up a horde of Valiant fans, and we tend to hoard Valiant comics.

A horde pertains to a group of people, a hoard pertains to a group of objects.

Now, NOBODY needs to make this mistake ever again.

They're - They are, they're the guys with the hoards of Harbinger #1

Their - ownership, their closests hide their hoards of Harbinger #1

...and...

Two - a number, two dozen copies of Harbinger #1 are considered a hoard

To - a direction, If you go to their houses, you can see their hoards of Harbinger #1

Too - very or also, too many copies of Harbinger #2 would be a hoard, too
