My First Post and First CGC Submission Results

Post by byzantine22 »

I have been reading this board for a few months and enjoy it very much. I became a Valiant collector in the mid 90s when I bankrolled my 2 sons during the Valiant craze... I am not much of a comic reader but I think the Valiant covers are absolute works of art. I bought a few CGC books
on ebay to get an idea of what it's about and sent in 15 of my Valiants.
They have been graded and I'm waiting to receive them. I was surprised ........ Harbinger 0 gray - 9.8
Harbinger 0 pink - 9.6
Harbinger 1 - 9.8
Harbinger 3 - 9.8
Harbinger 4 - 9.8
Solar 1 - 9.8
Solar 10 - 9.6
Rai 1 - 9.8
Rai 4 - 9.8
Rai 5 - 9.4
Magnus 1 (two) - 9.6 on both
Magnus 5 - 9.8
Magnus 10 - 9.8
Magnus 12 - 9.8

I was a sports card collector and was picky when I got the books. I stuck them away and never read them so the spines stayed solid..... I have about 35 more pre-unity to send to CGC...........

You never read these books? :o These are some of Valiant's best work.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having books graded but come on. The true art is the story inside. Go out and pick up some of issues(I'm sure you can find them in so-so condition cheap). Read them, injoy them. That's what there for :)

Congrats on the grades, you did well. Seems like we have more Harby 1 9.8's coming into the scene. Wonder how much it'll start affecting the price value?

I hope a lot. I have failed so many times with books I thought were 9.8s I'm going to give up getting one myself soon, and pony up and buy the slab.
