I think I accidentally stumbled onto VH-1 Magnus several years after everything crashed. (I think I first read about it on Greg's website. Thanks Greg!) It was like a nostalga gold mine to me because it was my favorite series from Golden Key back when it was first coming out. My dad gave me GK Magnus #5 when he came home from a business trip. (He gave my brother #4, and I spent the rest of my life trying to find another #4 until Dark Horse came out with the book containing GK Magnus #1 - 7 last month.) As a kid, I was then intentionally looking for GK Magnus each month, but it was only sporadically offered at my local dime store. I finally gave up.

Around 2000, I discovered a great comics store - Titan Comics, in Dallas. Suddenly I had easy access to buying back issues of Magnus VH-1 and several GK issues, which then caused me to buy the other tie-in series (i.e. RAI, etc.) After getting all VH-1 Magnus stories, I then bravely crossed over to VH-2 Magnus. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I then discovered the two issues in the old Doctor Solar series that had Magnus stories in the back, and that felt like going back in time.

Now I eagerly await the new Magnus graphic novels that are coming out later this Spring. (I did get briefly excited about the aborted new Magnus series about a year ago, especially when I saw a few drawings on the web. That was hard when the deal fell through!)
