With the crazy prices Harby books have hit lately I wouldn't be a bit surprised. I guess it will be a good chance to see if Harby is cooling off any.

Did you notice in the description it says something like... "fresh from CGC".

So is this a new 9.8 book on the census?

Ya know, Ryan, (imagesowner2) sold a couple copies in the last few months on eBay he referred to as 9.6-9.8. He then found out, I believe via feedback, one of the copies he sold did indeed come back to the buyer from CGC as 9.8. I wonder if this is the same copy?
Props to Ryan on accurately grading that unslabbed Harby 1. :thumb:

I wonder? I do remember Ryan's post about the 9.8.

It just might reach that same price considering the last one was given a two page news spread in the Newest CBG this month.

People are watching these more then Ever.

I hear that ... I'm looking for a new TV and want to spend about a grand, which feels like a lot to me. I couldn't imagine spending twice that on a comic book.

More power to the guys who can, but I can't pull that one off.

We may get better idea of what this is worth now because the folks paying BIG $$$ may have already gotten their copy. ;)

I don't plan on it, but I know someone is going to send it to me via email.

ooohhh , it hurts to see it.

But you know the positive thing that comes out of this (for me anyway) is that people will trust my grading more. Everyone has their opinions about grading but I always try to err on the side of caution when grading. which, in turn will probably get me at least a few more bids on some of my stuff when I sell. No more "Thats not NM" from anyone.

Or maybe it will just make it worse. Who knows.

Hey, I owned a Batman 1 in strict VG condition a long time ago. I don't think about her much anymore. Mostly on rainy days. :(
