Are Geomancer, Timewalker and/or Visitor worth reading?

Post by Knob »

Geomancer, Timewalker and The Visitor all came out after I drifted away from comics so I don't remember them as new titles and have never read an issue of any even though I have a few in my collection now?

Are any of these worth reading or getting complete runs if I don't care about having a complete Valiant set? I liked all of the core Valiant series and Ninjak.

It's really more about space for me than anything, I live in a downtown apartment with my fiance until we can get a bigger house or condo somewhere and I basically have room for 4 or 5 boxes of comics, over half of which are already Valiant. Some day soon I will start me hording lifestyle though

Timewalker and The Visitor are worth adding. Timewalker has some good tie-ins to key points pointed out in Rai 0, and TV has a good reveal.

Geo is so-so.

They each have their plus and minuses. I liked parts of Visitor better than others.

Timewalker failed to live to its potential, except for the Harbinger Wars trilogy, but that also had its flaws.

Geomancer was an okay series, but as a fan of continuity I can't give it much praise since it contradicts parts of it.

If space is an issue then you may want to consider binding some books :thumb:

You could easily buy a run of those titles and, with a little work, send them out to be bound. Set the finished book on your shelf to read at your convenience :thumb:

PM me if you need help with it. Its a lot of fun :thumb: :thumb: :D

:D Yes, Geomancer is worth reading.

Though I admit - for all the characters you (OP) mentioned the concepts were better than the execution.

Objectively speaking, I think Timewalker was the best of the lot and Visitor had the most room for improvement. For me, Geomancer fits right in the middle.

I liked Timewalker, but thought it could've been done better. I did not care for Geomancer at all.

That's what Acclaim did and it worked very well. The only problem I had with it was the way the portrayed Gilad.

Archer & Armstrong, Eternal Warrior, Timewalker, and Geomancer are completely different concepts that have no business being forced into a single comic.

If VEI does that then they might as well just do a single VALIANT Universe comic a la newuniversal.

Forcing EW with Geomancer into one single comic makes as much sense as forcing Turok and Magnus into the same comic.

I like Timewalker, especially the Harbinger Wars arc. The early issues of the Visitor and the Geomancer are better than the later issues.
