MICHAEL GOLDEN ARCHER & ARMSTRONG COVER RELEASED

MICHAEL GOLDEN CREATES ORIGINAL COVER FOR ARCHER & ARMSTRONG: FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Comics Legend Pencils, Inks and Colors Piece to be featured on Dust Jacket of Upcoming Valiant Entertainment Hardcover Edition

Valiant Entertainment’s next hard cover edition release, Archer & Armstrong: First Impressions, will feature a new dust jacket cover by legendary artist, Michael Golden. Best known as the co-creator of the X-Men character, Rogue, and for his work on the comics Micronauts and The ‘Nam, Golden penciled, inked and colored this new piece which features Archer and Armstrong surrounded by a hit squad sent by arch nemesis, The Sect.

“In all the work that I do it’s always interesting working with other people and trying to adapt an art style to the existing look of the property as the original creator intended,” said Golden. “I enjoy the challenge, and this cover was one of those! Great characters, great assignment!”

“We’ve been anticipating the arrival of this cover and we certainly weren’t disappointed,” said Walter J. Black, Senior VP & Publisher of Valiant Entertainment. “The amount of work and detail that Michael Golden put into this piece shows his extreme level of professionalism and enthusiasm for the assignment. He’s caught the essence of both Archer and Armstrong and the feel of the book perfectly in his rendering.”

The Archer & Armstrong: First Impressions hardcover edition features digitally recolored versions of issues #0-6 of the original blockbuster series co-created by Jim Shooter and Barry Windsor-Smith that sold over 4 million comic books. As well, Archer & Armstrong: First Impressions features the brand new story, “The Formation of The Sect,” by Jim Shooter and artists Sal Velluto and Bob Almond created exclusively for this edition.

Archer & Armstrong: First Impressions is set for release on September 24 and is still available for order. Found in the July issue of Diamond Previews, out now, use Diamond order number: JUL084301 to get your copy.

i wonder which A&A logo they'll use :hm:

I hope the one on issue 5-26, but the logical one will be the original one used on issues 0-4....but I know BWS designed that one :?

It's okay—I like Armstrong but Archer feels off to me. Overall it captures the essence of the title well enough though.

NEWS FLASH!

It has not been confirmed that M. Golden actually drew this from an image of MOTA giving ZWH a big hug at SDCC!
