Greg's embarassing secret...
Once upon a time, a man decided to start a website devoted to Valiant comics.
He sat at his computer for many hours each week...
The weeks became months...
and the months became years.
Every day he checked his "Valiant email" and looked for "Valiant auctions"...
soon he was active on his own "Valiant messageboard" keeping
in touch with the rest of the "Valiant community".
After at least five years running his Valiant site, he had been recognized
by Overstreet as the Valiant advisor to their publications...
and he even wrote articles as a "Guest Columnist" devoted to Valiant.
...all these Valiant things he did...
...from his Valiant little desk...
...in his Valiant little room...
...surrounded by...
THIS!

Star Wars?
Lee's Dracula?
I think that "the two year old who saw a movie" story is pretty standard for our generation, heh.
Comics are like a Rorschach test, everyone has a different opinion on what they are and can be...

TWO? Hell, I was 6.
But you know what's weird? I didn't develop a liking for the character...but I WORSHIP Christopher Reeve. I've seen I and II maybe 30 times each...but it didn't carry over to the comics.
In fact...it wasn't until BATMAN that I got into comics. And the winger fellow remains my favorite character.
You know...the 70's were a good time to be a kid.

Same here... I love Superman I and II,ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:I've seen I and II maybe 30 times each...but it didn't carry over to the comics.
but I don't have any Superman comics.
I just like decorating with Superman stuff...
maybe its because Superman is just so common,
I don't mind letting nails/hooks/sunlight hit the stuff.
My Valiant items are tucked quietly into dark/dry/cool boxes.
Though... Superman is facing the other corner of the room...
a little redemption, perhaps?

Ok, nothing to be ashamed of! Lets look closer....isn't that the cool Turok fighting Raptor diorama toy front and center? And the busts - who dat? Elvis and Einstein? The Hallmark ornament....can't tell if it's an astronaut, or a hockey player. Oddly enough, Valiant geeks like us must have similar taste beyond Valiant. I too have that exact set of Superman prints, and the Turok/Raptor diorama, and all the Hallmark astronaut ornaments! My Superman print set came with a cool chromium image bonus, did you get that with your set?

Yep, the busts (from left to right) are Superman, Elvis, and Einstein,Master Dorque wrote:Ok, nothing to be ashamed of! with Turok/Raptor "plastic-diorama" in front.
I didn't realize that Hallmark ornament was there...
I must have been selling it on eBay at the time... it's Gretzky.
That's either another Gretzky behind it, or my Hallmark Darth Vader.
The X-O Bronze Ring is barely visible to the right of the Superman bust,
and that's a Star Wars Episode I boxed set behind Einstein.
My desk is a bit messier right now...
It includes all the same stuff, minus the Gretzky,
plus a carved wooden replica of "The Thinker" (about a foot tall).
I've added 3.5" figures of Boba Fett, Jean Luc Picard, and Superman,
and the "Valiant Visual Checklist" is hanging on the wall above my DSL modem now.
