I am going to go with Greg's advice of giving advance notice with the next ASH edition, but I'm going to give a looser timeframe. For example, start a topic that states that the book will be offered between "date :atomic: " and "date :atomic: ", but not give a specific time as to when it will be offered. This way you can still keep the "chance" aspect of getting it, which I like. Mountain Dew did this last year when you could collect points for prizes like X-Boxes. You had to check back on the site between certain dates and see when they would be available. I didn't like it, but it did keep everyone on a level playing field with no clear advantage to any one person.

Does this sound a bit better?

I think that is a fair solution. More traffic for the site then also since many people will be checking back in to see if the book is available yet! :thumb:

Ok, just got back from Vegas and found this little gem of a thread. Being a fan (yes I did like VH2) I would have loved to get one of these. It sucks that I didn't get a chance at one but nothing I can do about that (at least I'm not the only one).

I like the advance notice idea even if it's a rough timeframe. Something deep in my sick mind told me something like this would go down while I was computer free in Sin City.

Congrats to those of you lucky enough to get one it looks to be a very cool book.

I'm going to sleep now since I haven't in the past five days.

Thanks for the claification Greg.

Off the bat my Valiant mania kicked in and I felt I had to have it but then I realized it's not part of the set. :P

Then I came on and made a huge post and then read the thread and saw your post and erased it all.

So I'm still good my VcVSS set is still complete and all is good in the Valiant World.

The good thing about this little scare is that we now are comming up with a modus operandi for these projects.

Hey! That's me! :)

Seriously, you're exactly right, Go...anyone who posts REGULARLY, who contributes REGULARLY, no matter how many posts they have, is a REGULAR.

Whether they joined two months ago, or 5 years ago.

I'm regular, but it has more to do with my diet than anything else.

Steve,
I got #11 in the mail today. Condition of the book was great & the signatures looked fantastic. This was the perfect book to get autographed. That American flag cover really highlights the signatures!

I really liked this A.S.H. edition, thanks for taking the time and effort to do it! :thumb:

I've got one coming, but as to how long I keep it is another story. Since I spoke for one I have been tossing around the idea of parting with it. I will decide once I see it!

Just wanted to let everyone know (in case you didn't get the message) that app. half of the ASH editions have been mailed as of Saturday, and the other half will mail out by Friday. So if you haven't got yours yet, don't worry, it's on the way. Got five more to ship tomorrow, and the rest by Friday.
Thanks for all the postive e-mails I've gotten on it today!!!

Got #16 today...

The package was bent.... right across the words that said "Do Not Bend"!

Happily, the cardboard saved the comic from permanent damage!

I tried to pack every one of them up pretty sturdy. (Industrial cardboard, padded envelope, double-boarded in WIZARD bag). The next batch will go out tomorrow, and the rest by Friday.
I'm glad to hear everyone's pleased so far with the book.
