Overstreet Comic Price Review - April 2004...

Post by greg »

Following the trend of Solar #1 in the "tenth spot" - February 2004,
with Unity #0 Red in the "fifth spot" - March 2004...
This month's Overstreet's Comic Price Review again highlights
a pre-Unity book in the "Top Ten"...

Magnus Robot Fighter #0 in the "second spot" this month...

Small print might be tough to read... here's the text...
MAGNUS ROBOT FIGHTER #0
New to the list!
Yes, it's a recurring theme.
High grade only, and thus far it's limited to
the Shooter era and some final issues, but
early Valiant comics are in demand. Think it
has something to do with the stories?

There are no "number 1", "number 2" assignments on the page...
but it seems like some type of order is implied by the arrangement
on the page... technically, I guess they are in "no particular order",
since there's no absolute numbering.

Still interesting that they decided to place Magnus #0 on the top "level" and that they mentioned the stories. Anyone want to guess what next months books is (if there is indeed another) - Harbinger #1 or #0 possibly?

Since the publication focuses on CGC graded books...
I'd guess that Solar #7 might be a good choice!

And to be a little off topic- I have been ranting about how great Dark Horse Conan is since it came out to anyone who would listen! This is a little validation I guess.

I think Harbinger #1 will make this Overstreet list soon...

I'm a little puzzled that Ultimate Fantastic Four 1 is on the list. I read on another thread in another forum that there was this one guy who posted that he regretted buying multiple issues of UFF 1 because the print run was too high. Others felt the same way about the print run. Also, I think that seeing all the valiant gold editions fetching high prices that they would be mentioned in the next Overstreet.

I also think Harbinger #1 should pop up there next.

Greg
Did you read through the sellers in the issue to see if any of them list Valiant CGC sales? Or if they comment about Valiant?

I know in the last 2 issues a few dealers made note of some Valiant sales.

I didn't get this issue so can't post what others were mentioned.

There were not any mentions of Valiant sales in this month's issue...
Normally Steve Mortensen (Collossus Comics) mentions his Valiant sales,
but he didn't this month.

Most of the recent CGC sales were missing from the sales lists, too.
I think I'll start providing my records of CGC Valiant sales on Ebay
if they will help.

By the way, my CGC Census Analysis article received about a half-page
in the latest issue...

It's not Valiant-related... just general number-crunching.

In the "Top Ten"?

I think it might have been listed at the bottom of one of the pages...
before they started the "Top Ten" list. I'll see if I can find it.

Yeah, I remember taking a scan of the page to show the others on the website. However, I think it might of been a Harbinger #0 pink cgc market watch and not top ten :( I'm getting old. My memory wasn't like it use to be ;)
