Nice . . . . not sure what these things market for but the BIN seems a little steep.

Although the last time we said that you know what sold for $5,500

bin

Post by willyt »

ya the bin is higher than i realistically expected; i mainly wanted it to go through auction. But if someone wanted it quick no hassle before Christmas than maybe... so i thought it would be a good option to supply.

Are you referring to the bloodshot plat for $5,500? a cgc 9.8 ? or the 10.0 that our long time beloved fellow board member has? thats the only valiant that i know that could fetch that much.

thanks ya'll

I remember willy from when he posted on the board back in the day. He seemed to be a good guy. Maybe he would be willing to explain his latest negative to put to rest any concerns from potential buyers.

That would help. That negative looks real bad.

Except, of course, :gossip: is what some people do best, and those that bring it out into the open usually end up being the bad guys....

neg feedback

Post by willyt »

ya, i made a mistake. i was in the middle of a move and messed up my last sale or two. recently when i started wanting to use ebay again i had to pay the fines and get everything straight with ebay/paypal. From previous experience as a consumer (buyer), i believe ebay/paypal ended up settling with the buyer.

on my other ebay name, Willpine, I dealt with many board members about collecting or sales. Mostly i sold and posted on this board before and a little after Greg suscribed to another server and made everyone re-join the website in 2004.
On willpine ebay account i had over 300 stars and and 509 total good feedback 100% for some reason all of them dont get a star..? I havent messed with that account in a while somehow someone linked selling computers to my account. People would send me questions about computer parts or whole computers and i would look up the item number but it was under someone elses name. ended up not messing with that account until i heard from ebay. that was years ago. I would like to know how it happened...but it has been a pain from them.

It's called phishing, people send you bogus questions. They hope you click the link in the email which takes you to a site that looks like you are login to ebay with your account name and password. Bam you just gave the hacker everything they need to take over your account.

If he was paying that guy, the fee would include a calzone . . . and twice a week a choice of cannoli :thumb:

I'll be shocked if the book goes for half that, actually make it a third :thumb:

Either way though, good luck with the sale, it's an awesome book to have in that grade.

Well, there are a few things going on "around" this auction that probably have an impact.

1) There's also a CGC 9.8 Harbinger #1 on Ebay right now
2) There's also a CGC 9.9 Shadowman #1 on Ebay right now
3) Christmas can either be a time of buying "a little something for yourself"
or a time to be completely broke from buying for everyone else
4) There is a hidden reserve price, which generally keeps bidders away.
5) The feedback rating is 97%, which is kind of low...
the explanation is a good one, but not everyone on Ebay has read it.
6) The picture is unfortunately dark.

Each of these six things could have a "price-suppressing effect" on this auction,
but if the reserve isn't met, it won't matter... it can be relisted later taking care
of numbers 1 through 4. Number 5 probably won't change much, even if the seller
puts a lot of other items on Ebay before relisting the Armorines books.

...but number 6 is something that can be helped immediately. :)
